New data from New World Wealth, in association with MasterCard, shows that the number of black millionaires in South Africa has almost tripled in the last 8 years- while white millionaires have dropped significantly.
NWW’s data shows that at the end of 2015, there were 38,500 millionaires in South Africa – down 18% from 46,800 recorded at the end of 2014.
There was a net-gain in millionaires from previously disadvantaged backgrounds of 2,600 HWNIs, while there was a net decrease in white millionaires of 10,900 individuals.
About 45% of all high net worth individuals (HWNIs) in the country are from previously disadvantaged groups (including black, Indian and coloured South Africans), with white South Africans still making up the majority.
On the other end of the scales, white millionaire numbers have decreased in the country, slipping from 36,600 in 2007, to 21,200 in 2015 (a decrease of 42%). Year-on-year, there are 10,900 fewer white millionaires in the country (a drop of 34%).

IIRC, right after the end of Apartheid, many white South Africans sold out, used the proceeds to build the largest yacht possible then sailed away with their assets.
Currency regulations prevented their transferring funds outside South Africa.
Spoke to some colleagues from South Africa, who were in for world meeting. Some take aways:
Most every house in affluent neighborhoods are surrounded by 8 ft. walls and secure gates.
Security systems are common.
They never leave their houses w/o guns
Wives are all taught to shoot.
They rarely venture out after dark
But inspite of all that they all really love where they l.ive...........go figure
Who knew there were white millionaires or business people still in South Africa in any significant numbers??
From what we hear, the status of whites in South Africa is similar to the status of Jews in Nazi Germany around 1935 or 1936. Any whites who can leave should get out. They have no future. The handwriting is on the wall as to what will happen in South Africa. If you are the wrong ethnicity you have a target on your back.
Not that I'm an expert in such things but I'm inclined to be somewhat pessimistic regarding SA's future.

These must be the slow learners of the bunch!
South Africa is part of the Dominion, and many can move to Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand with little problem with permission, only wealth transfer being the challenge.
The greater challenge is many Afrikanners / Dutch who don’t speak good English and have no where else to go without a major cultural shift.
When you look at the age demographics of the ones who left, they’ve lost 20-40% of young adults, with most of the remaining ones the older ones.
In short, many of the younger whites went to university in Canada or the UK or Australia and stayed. Their parents are the remainder behind.
There is a good number of disadvantaged whites in South Africa. They live in horrible conditions of poverty.

We have Swedish friends who expatted there. They said it was absolutely gorgeous and you had everything you needed in your "safe zone". That, said, you never, ever left it without security. They lasted three years.
I have only really recently learned the true story of South Africa. I never really paid much attention to it or race really.
Everyone on European ancestry should read and listen to Karin Smith, like, today. Then really, really think about what life in the United States is going to be like when it becomes white minority.
