Rubio to Levin: "The Only one who fits... is Ted Cruz"
Conservative Review ^ | 04/12/16 | CR Wire/Mark Levin

Posted on 04/12/2016 7:27:55 PM PDT by writer33

On tonight's episode of LevinTV Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) joined Mark Levin in a wide ranging interview. The two touched on a host of topics, including Rubio's future political plans, his foreign policy vision, and who he thinks should be the president.

When Levin asked Rubio who he would be supporting for the corner office, Rubio said that his delegates are bound on the first ballot. He added that on subsequent ballots, "I hope that they'll nominate a conservative." Rubio added, "the only one[presidential candidate] that fits that criteria is Ted Cruz."

He does. He mentioned Marco and Walker as possible VP picks but acknowledged that he ‘hit then hard’

Rubio and Walker have taken that off the table.

According to Morris we may end up with Trump/Kasich—

not excited about that at all.

Have you checked the delegate count lately? Trump has come up short? He’s two hundred plus ahead of Cruz and is about to pick up a substantial number more.

1237 is the magic number. I believe Trump has to win 66% of the remaining delegates to get to that number. He should do well in the northeast, but even his staff say it's going to come down to CA. In CA most delegates are won district by district and only registered Pubs can vote. Trump may do well, but he likely comes up short of 1237.

Cruz has the superior organization and political skills. He has been working on potential delegate support if there's more than one ballot for quite awhile.

I’ve been hearing about Cruz’s vaunted skills since he entered the race. Not working out too well. Trump will go into Cleveland with the required #. Drama over, Ted gone. Probably doesn’t finish term as Senator and becomes lobbyist or lawyer for GS.

“All Trump products are made in America. The first thing Trump makes sure is that his products are made by Americans and paid for by Mexicans. With Trump, we are going to make so many products that we will be sick of making products.”

While deducting a point for inaccuracy, I award two points for great humor. Kind of pro-Trump posts I can support.

Given the way Levin has devolved, not surprising how Levin would have on Rubio—to attack Cruz...

Is this how every one of his shows are?

On his radio show, Levin came out and said he has gotten a 7-year contract on his one-hour internet “TV” show...

Who gets 7- year after a internet show has been on air for one month??

Seems sketchy to me...Wonder who is funding his endeavors?

Wonder who is funding his endeavors? I have been trying to track that down, as I think that would explain a lot of Levin's over the top behavior re Cruz. I am thinking Beck or someone who knows how to set up a tv studio...

Trump is calling Hillary liar. The thing is it rings hollow after calling Carson a pathological liar , lyn’n Ted and ‘lil’ Marco a worse liar than Ted.

Also, she's going to play the "victim" card and a lot women will be turned off by this.

I still think that Trump/Cruz is out best shot.

I don't see how Cruz could ever agree to that. Even if he could put aside all the personal attacks of his wife, conservatives would never forgive him. Remember when Rubio joined Schumer in the gang of eight, that ended his career.

According to Morris we may end up with Trump/Kasich—

Trump could get to 1237 doing that, but would Kasich do that after condemning Trump's behavior and flat out saying he would not be VP.

If trump gets 1237 , the delegates could enforce this scenario without consent of Trump or Cruz.

But if trump gets 1237 with Kasich support, then many conservative/libertarian types will be turned off with Cruz out of the picture.

Also, women will be turned off.

Trump’s support from defeated guys in field is going to look like Carson, unless he gets together with Cruz.

Admittedly, Trump is more likeable than Cruz .

But Cruz is the only candidate who has been able to withstand the ‘Trump reality distortion field with kill shot grip’

If it is Trump/kasich we will be much weaker on both policy and energy.

I believe that is exactly why he has retained them. I also think if he endorsed Cruz it might actually result in freeing some of his delegates to vote for Trump. He can’t stand Trump. So no unity for Little Marco with Deceptive Donnie.

Cruz has never had media support and started near the bottom of the 17 person field. Now here we are coming towards the end and he's one of the 3 finalists and positioned well to be the winner in a contested convention. If this doesn't speak to great political skills, good organizational skills and an eye for detail nothing does.

Trump may go into the convention with the required # and if so we will have to survive 4 yrs of hillary.

I doubt Ted walks away if he doesn't win. He probably comes back with a vengeance and wins it all in 4 yrs.

At some point, everybody has to choose some candidate. Rubio choosing Cruz now doesn’t mean they agree on every issue. Does Trump benefit from David Duke liking him best of the candidates?

I keep reading that in other conventions including last time, candidates “released” their delegates on the first ballot so the vote for the nominee could be unanimous. Can they not be released this time?

I think once again Rubio, like Kasich and Trump, doesn’t understand the rules of the game. That alone should show you why Cruz is the only one qualified for a promotion.

Have you seen how shrunken the formerly-robust Levin radio thread is these days?

Levin has cashed his check. Too bad. I like the guy. But when you get too partisan, you kill your base.

Michael Jordan’s comment about his shoes comes to mind.

Right . Kasich has made it much harder for Trump to do the Trump/Kasich deal.

But with Cruz consolidating support, the pressure for Trump to do a TRump / Kasich deal is enormous.

Trump has severely constrained his options.

Without Trump/Cruz being put on the same ticket and the scott adams ‘attacks’ being directed to Hillary, we are in big trouble.
