Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton hold big leads in Maryland two weeks before the state's presidential primary election, according to a new NBC 4/Marist poll released Tuesday night.

Among likely Republican voters, Trump holds a 12-point lead over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 41 percent to 29 percent, with Ohio Gov. John Kasich in third at 24 percent.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by 22 points, 58 percent to 36 percent.

Among Republicans, Trump enjoys the most enthusiastic block of supporters. Seventy-one percent of his backers say they "strongly" support him, compared to 51 percent for Cruz and 44 percent for Kasich.

"We're seeing in Maryland a similar pattern as we're seeing elsewhere, with Trump in the low 40s and then Cruz and Kasich dividing up the rest," said pollster Lee Miringoff. "Trump is well positioned because the other two are dividing up the pie."

Not necessarily momentum is not working well this season.
Of course the East is LIBERAL so Trump fits right in. Cruz is pretty much writing this area.

I think Indiana on May 3rd and West Virginia on May 10th are key for Trump. Wins in these states will help him to be comfortably over 1237 in the end.

A few months ago, The New York Times did a survey which showed West Virginia was Mr. Trump’s strongest state. I hope that remains true. Also, I hear anti-Trump sentiment is now taking hold in Indiana along the lines of what occurred in Wisconsin. Hopefully, once Mr. Trump sweeps April’s contests, that dynamic will dissipate. Having eight more states in his win column, will definitely lessen the anxiety over California.
Mr. Trump, during his family’s town hall appearance on CNN tonight, told Anderson Cooper that perhaps his next major speech might center on PARTY UNITY!! What a glorious concept to contemplate which would expedite his freedom to focus solely on Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders!!

I’ve estimated the outcome in the remaining states but left Indiana and West Virginia as the question marks.

My count shows Trump at around 1200 and Cruz at around 830 excluding those states.

I’m right there with you buddy. I’m all set to vote in PA on the 26th and got registered just in time. Got my voter card in the mail the other day. I’ve never been more excited to vote in my life.

There are 858 still available delegates
Trump needs 482 delegates or roughly 56%
Cruz needs 692 delegates were 80% of the delegates remaining

He does much better in states where the voters are not allowed to vote.

You have perceived the secret of his power.

Identical to that of Hillary.

What does “um” mean?

Looks like a clean sweep for Trump for the rest of April. There is very little enthusiasm for Cruz in the Northeast and Deep South. He simply had no ground game there and is even getting clobbered by Kasich. You can’t expect to win the presidency by campaigning to only a small section of the country. Iowa and Wisconsin only does not cut it. Texas favored their hometown boy in the primary but will happily vote for Trump in the general.

The truth about Ted He is probably getting more votes as the antiTrump than for himself Once trump,is gone so are a lot of Ted’s voters

Doesn't matter to his solid supporters - they will try to make it Trump's fault that Hillary follows Obama and ignore how much they and Cruz helped pave the way.

Trump swept the South. That means liberals and the glorious Southern states love Trump, but hate the bread-faced Mutant also known as Ted Cruz. The only people who like Cruz are establishment hacks and corn huffing snake handlers.

Colorado Effect.

I have to say, I was very pleased to see this get so much national attention. The RNC managed this so badly, and more and more information about the ethics and moral code of justifying the theft and not playing fair is gaining a great deal of empathy for Trump for people who believe, and not feel vindicated, that the ‘game is fixed’.

It's hard to see how this poll is even remotely good news for Cruz. A 12-point deficit is simply terrible and Maryland is possibly the only state on the 26th where he could have done well.

I agree 100%. It reminds me of when Cruz was accused of cheating after the Iowa caucus. Voters are getting a look-see at Cruz’s approach to ‘winning’.
