The ‘robust labor market’. But the GDP now looks to be in negative territory and retail sales have turned negative. A real investigative journalist might ask about the contradictions, but journalists these days are just Obama cheerleaders.

In 1973 the economy was totally and utterly screwed. It was the year of OPEC, gas lines and price controls. Great year to compare to.

The stats are deliberately misleading. If everyone on unemployment were considered gainfully employed by virtue of receiving income unemployment would be at 0%. Now that is the way to run government.

How many millions of ‘workers’ are now sitting home unfairly collecting ‘disability’?

The number of U.S. workers who applied for new unemployment benefits fell for the second straight week to match its lowest level since 1973, in the latest sign of a robust labor market.

All one long running sentence.
Here is how they want you to read it.

The number of U.S. workers who applied for new
unemployment benefits FELL
for thesecond straight
week
to match its
lowest level since 1973,
in the latest sign

of a robust labor market.

Here is how to correctly read it...

The number of U.S. workers who applied for NEW unemployment benefits
fell for the second straight WEEK

to match its lowest level since 1973, in the latest sign of a robust labor market.

Hmmmm, jobless claims down. Those are usually filed by people losing their jobs. When you are at astronomical underemployed numbers, who really is left that has a job to lose?

Not.

“For March 2016 the official Current U-6 unemployment rate was 9.9% down from 10.1% in February. On the other hand the independently produced Gallup equivalent called the “Underemployment Rate” was 14.4% from 14.0% in December and January and 14.7% in February.”

I forgot this nugget: “The current differential between Gallup and BLS on supposedly the same data is 4.5%!”

Most have been out of work so long they’ve fallen off the grid.

Damned liars. (Yes, I'm using damned in the Scriptural sense.) There are some 90 MILLION Americans who have totally given up looking for a job, or never tried to find one once they came of age.

I hate what this lying, thieving, cheating administration, and the millions of idiots who enable it, has done to this country.

I think we’re all gigging. Doing whatever, short term contracts. Online stuff. As the poster said above, making in two days what we used to make in an hour. Putting the janitor in the operating room and the surgeon pushing the broom and if the janitor kills somebody, who cares, it’s the government. Obastard was the end of my career.

You can be sure that if Trump (or Cruz) is elected, the media will THEN reveal to the low-info crowd the true condition of the economy and it will be all Trump’s fault.

Yes, unless the candidates bring it up first. I believe we are at depression level unemployment and almost nobody is talking about it.
