“somehow she didn’t explain why only New York has these sort of liberal values and not San Francisco, Chicago, Portland,...”

Because Trump (Cruz’s opponent) is from New York and repeatedly referred to those “New York” views in his Russert interview. Why would Cruz bring up Portland??
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHAHKGP10yc

“It actually happened in 1999, SEVENTEEN years ago.”

Some guy no one knows exaggerated. He was wrong to do it. Trump exaggerates daily as part of “the art of the deal” to get votes. I’d say that’s worse.

“I’ve never seen any evidence that Trump was ever at any time in favor of gay marriage”

After he attended his friends’ gay wedding, he said it was beautiful. When asked if gay marriage was a dead issue, he basically said yes: “Anybody that’s making an issue out of it is doing it for political reasons.” I think it’s reasonable to assume he’s not against gay marriage.

“..there was the woman who was disgusted that Trump brought up 9/11, because apparently people are only allowed to mention bad NY values and it’s horrifying if they bring up good ones.”

Cruz was referring to Trump’s own statements on social issues. Why would he bring up 9/11? And who voted for DeBlasio, Clinton, Schumer, Cuomo? The people of Idaho? Yes, that woman was obnoxious, but they were all yelling at each other.

“...exemplifies some of the worst traits of many of Cruz’s most devoted followers...”

Cruz was way down on my list, and Trump was close to last. But when I point out a truth about Trump, I’ve been told (among many other things) to disappear, die a slow painful death, suffer for eternity in hell. (It doesn’t bother me.) When I say a truth about Cruz, I either get agreement or ignored. From my experience, Trump supporters are MUCH worse than Cruz supporters. And I know, from experience, Trump supporters would deny it.

It was a mistake for Cruz to bring up NY values. It’s also wrong of Trump to twist it to say Cruz was talking about the heroism of 9/11.

I think God caused Ted’s audio issues and feed, because God really has had enough of him as well.

Yep....I'm sure it was God.....and not a jackass setup from step one of making sure Cruz was last on the roster, not feeding anyone until it was time for Cruz's speech and cutting off his mike while at the same time turning on the table mikes.

You believe that....and I've got a bridge to sell you.

BTW....I now understand Ted's NY values comment as it relates to the elitists. Low class....no class performance by them last night.

Great analysis. Cruz looks smaller and weaker by the day. The more I listen to him the less I like him.

Doing his “victory dance” and bragging because millions of people in Colorado were disenfranchised the right to vote is stupid, obnoxious, and only fits in a Communist dictatorship.

Fighter for the Constitution? Fighter for the people? What a joke.

He’s temporary tool of the GOPe and is interested in schmoozing and twisting the votes of the delegates, more than winning the hearts and votes of the people. People are seeing through his shenanigans and he’s dropping in the polls like a rock - as he should.

I find this all very confusing...and I agree with your points.

How did the "choices" come down to THIS?! and why do so many people here love Donald Trump and hate Ted Cruz?

I would vote for either one of them over H.R.C. or "the Bern", but it's a little disheartening that it's come to that.

IMHO, Mr. Trump presents a huge risk in that he has not presented concrete policies, and his "track record" has been very changeable in recent history. Mr. Cruz is largely unpopular and uncharming, but more solid.

Sad to say, best prepare now for the next Clinton administration.

Thank you for your post; I agree!

I do not care much for either of the front-runners, but considering the alternative would be "Hillary!" and her whole cadre of hangers-on, it would be best to stop the "Lyin Ted" vs. "The Donald" wars sometime soon, IMHO. We ARE FReepers here, all...and the first word is FREE...

Thanks for considering, and not flaming!

Trump is the only one who's really presented concrete policies. They're on his website.

Trump - Make America Great Again/positions

Personally I hate Cruz because he pretended to be for the people and he's just another career politician. I don't like being lied to.

It's also wrong of Trump to twist it to say Cruz was talking about the heroism of 9/11.

You are the one doing the twisting here. Cruz brought up what he saw as bad New York values; Trump countered with what he thought exemplified good New York values. He has every right to defend his city/state and to try to balance out Cruz's purely negative portrayal. Trump, of course, never at any time claimed that "Cruz was talking about the heroism of 9/11."

By the way, my point was not that Cruz should have brought up "Portland values" but that the things he criticized are by no means "New York values" when huge swaths of the country share those very same values. He singled out part of the country to attack, solely because as you note that is where Trump is from.
