More info on the rally from the local press. Mayor said after the venue reaches 4800, no more will be allowed in. Apparently 5K tickets were requested.
Only 1 Pubbie on the City Council. Protests are planned, but the police will be there.

As you know I LOVE DJT, but I wish he wasn’t always late. I suspect he’s very prompt in business and personal life. I’ve heard him say at some of the rallies that he was speaking with reporters and/or local reporters before coming on stage. I totally get that and it’s something he needs to do; however, I wish he’d schedule those after the event or allow for more time prior to an event for interviews then cut them off and go on in time or 5 min late. One the other day was almost an hour late. I feel sorry for people standing in line for hours to get in, then standing at the event. I know that there can be some unforeseen circumstances, flight took longer, plane or traffic issues, slow lines getting through security (like last night). Just something I think would help his campaign a little. All that said, I LOVE his rallies and people that are there may not mind.

The mic was fine for most of Cruz’s speech. It might have been fine for all of it, and what was lost from our point of view was the audio passed from the public address system, to the broadcasters. I think all the broadcasters were affected., I know the internet stream I was on, was affected. I read that FoxNews was affected, and from the “back of the room” microphone, I don’t think the room PA system was affected at all.
I was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB in the late 70s and late 80s. Retired there. It’s a great place. Trump showing up that far away from NYC means he’s taking nothing for granted. Also a very conservative area, as is most of upstate. Plattsburgh AFB should have never losed. It was all politics. The Air Force has just extended the runway, major renovations all over base, getting ready for Plattsburgh’s new mission as the Air Force Air Refueling Wing on the East Coast. The base would be getting more aircraft, more personnel. Along comes the BRAC and decides to give McGuire the new mission and CLOSE Plattsburgh, after being an active military base in one way or the other since 1814. The Air Force wanted no part of the congested air space around McQuire and the Air Refueling Wing was shelved. All politics. Too many bases were closed after the fall of the Soviet Union. Now with the war on terror they need to reopen some of the closed bases, and they’re all over the country. By the way the military-hating Clinton was president when so many were closed, including Plattsburgh.
