That wasn’t in the information age. It may happen now if Cruz says in but it will go exactly like Bill Mitchell says.

And after the Colorado Cruz-Crap, the million CO Independents that are larger than the Republican registered voters are unlikely to vote for any Republican candidate. Thanks Ted.

*Go* Trump!
Indict Hillary!
Repatriate Ted!
Kibbutz Bernie!

"Abe Lincoln was nominated on the third ballot."

Here's another question to ask yourself late at night:

How is this relevant to Ted Cruz? Is he even 1/10th the man Abe Lincoln was?

"the billionaire leads the Texas senator by only 208 delegates"

"Only" this triple-digit number. If it was Jeb Bush leading Cruz by this much, the media would be screeching from the rooftops for Cruz to give up. They want to pretend Cruz can still win, because drama and intrigue brings in the hits/views/ratings.

I mean, Reuters put out this giddy article over fourteen delegates, or way less than Puerto Rico alone has.

Regardless of the vote Ted’s going to “steal” the delegates in Indiana, too!

Trump better get his act together fast if he’s going to reach the magic number.

We are about to find out aren’t we.

Trump 755
Cruz 521

Delegates remaining 798

Trump needs 482 - 69.4% of the remaining delegates.
Cruz needs 716 - 89.7% of the remaining delegates.

https://www.gop.com/official-2016-gop-delegate-count/

With Cruz cratering in the polls Trump getting to 1237 is very possible

You are assuming that the millions of independents are politically between the dems and the republicans. The truth is that there a quite a few independents that are former conservative republicans who left the party due to the 2012 fiasco when Sanatorum won the straw poll and Romney won the delegates.

I submit that those independents are far more likely to support Cruz as he is the only conservative left in the race.

Won’t help a damn bit more than an extra point will win a game when the other team is ahead by 4 touchdowns.

Tell me about 2012. Why were the delegates not loyal to Santorum?

And do you have a statewide election coming up in June or July?

Abe Lincoln was nominated on the third ballot.

I'm with you.

Cruz should keep fighting all the way until a candidate wins the nomination. He's the only principled conservative running. I expect the next month to be tough, most of the primaries are in the northeast. I think Trump is trying to make it seem likes it's inevitable that he gets the nomination, or "he's been cheated". Cruz will probably do well enough in CA and the remaining states to keep Trump under 1,150 delegates. If so, Cruz will probably win the nomination because he did his homework, knows the system and worked it to his advantage.

Why not let the people vote directly for a candidate?

Why not try to compete?

Or does The Donald think that Wyoming is beneath him?

Why do you suppose a conservative is running dead last in 4 of the most liberal States in the Republican? This is not a trick question BTW.

It is too bad that when people actually vote Cruz almost never wins mostly because nobody but his fellow GOP establishment hacks like him.

I want to see your comments the day he garners the nomination. You and 100 other posters.

If Ted Bush garners the nomination it will be only because his fellow GOP establishment hacks handed it to him. As the primaries have shown so far, Calgary Ted cannot win if voters decide and I believe that goes for the general election too. I still look forward to voting against him in 2018.

Why not have a popular vote, instead of a Soviet style outcome?

The answer is that ALL of Trumps supporters will either follow him to a 3rd party, or they will vote against every Republican on the ballot.

Like so many Trump supporters, you infer that this is the outcome you would really like to happen.

Your interest is not so much electing Trump as it is destroying the Republican party. You've no interest in taking over the party, only in demolishing it.

A third party is a fool's errand. It insures a Democrat victory...and Trump won't undertake a 3rd party run because it would be too expensive as well as hopeless. Or, failing a 3rd party, the Trumpists will "vote against every Republican on the ballot" -- otherwise insuring a Democrat win. It's as if a horde of nihilists rose from the bowels of Free Republic and spread across the landscape. You find satisfaction in destruction, like the child pulling the wings of of flies...
