Unless history is re-written by the victors, this will be known as the time the West did away with elections.

I’m sure the rules were followed.
I bet the Turks have a great ground game.
Their opponents just don’t know how to wwin.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just rename Western Europe as Greater Turkey?
As for Eastern Europe, they seem to have some grounding in reality. Good luck to them.

Sounds like a Ted Cruz “Big-D” Democracy maneuver! The rules is the rules....

Did you happen to notice that this thread is not about the US GOP primaries?
With all due respect, if I wanted to hear about that, I’d participate in those threads.

Almost like a Cruz caucus win.

How apropos and insightful. Sometimes, it takes a view from the outside to clarify the turmoil on the inside.

Similarity is similarity...
I did realize it was about the E.U.
Note the part about there being no vote on the issue.

There are no rules in the EU. They get made up as they go. When you have an executive that both writes and passes laws, you have an oligarchy.

No similarity that I can see. Only to the USSR, if anything.
If I wanted to discuss the primaries, I’d go to those threads.

Well you couldn’t prove that by me.
You’ve responded on the topic two or three times now.
You just don’t want me to point out the obvious.

Hey, if America doesn’t need its voters, why should the UN?

Blah, make that EU not UN... though it’s pretty much all the same players.

“There are no rules in the EU. They get made up as they go.”
So it’s a lot like certain state Republican Party organizations then.
