Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)said Wednesday morning that a contested Republican convention is certain and that supporters of Donald Trump are ultimately helping Hillary Clinton reach the White House.

During a radio interview for a Philadelphia morning show, Cruz predicted with certainty that the Republican Party is “headed to a contested convention.” He suggests Trump supporters “might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car.”

“Oh I am. And it doesn’t include Trump or Hillary or Bernie. Therefore if it comes down to that. I won’t participate.”

That’s your choice, to take your ball and go home if you’d like.

I did that in ‘92, along with millions...and we got Clinton. Further down the road, we go Hillary Clinton as the Dem nominee in 2016 - 24 freaking years later! Even though my lone vote meant nothing, I still regret it.

Do what you will, just be aware that sitting at home has its own set of consequences, because it is also a choice. I just don’t think that there’s enough slack in the system to withstand 4 or 8 years under Hillary, not after 8 years of the Traitor-In-Chief. We’re in trouble, BAD trouble. I firmly believe that General George S. Patton, Jr. was right when he said that “the perfect plan in a week is much worse than a good plan, executed now.” Trump ain’t perfect - not by a LONG shot. But, IMHO, he’s the only candidate who can defeat Hillary.

You have a bit more than 6 months to fully make your decision. Its yours to make, all that I ask is that you consider ALL of the facts before making it final.

The only thing to keep Hillary out of the White House at this point is the FBI arresting her.

Im not holding my breath.

Ross Perot is the reason you got Clinton then. Donald Trump will be the reason you get Clinton now.

They are not free polls but not available to the public. If you knew about the polling industry you would know they exist and are used for strategic, financial and other decisions.

Then I extend an olive branch. Best way to beat Hillary and save our country now is to get behind Trump. Hes not the most conservative, but he is a step in the right direction and very well could pull it off. If we get just a wall we are better off then we were...

“Do Trumpets ever listen to themselves?”

And might I ask who the hell are you Cruz people to lecture anyone on this site at this point?

Your candidate lost to that guy from Ohio, so you can knock off the idea that you people (Cruzettes) know what on Earth you are even talking about.

Smart move, if the FBI hasn’t found anything actionable by now, it will never happen.

Perhaps Trump has an unfavorable that high with women if Dems are included in the polling. What I saw in Syracuse at the rally was easy 50/50 split women to men. What surprised me a little was how many were in their 20s (ish). A very sizable portion of that huge crowd were 20s and 30 somethings.

Trump is Trump, but the hatred is there Reaganesque.

For what its worth there was a lot of damage done to Business in the 80s under Reagan. Changes were made on how much companies had to save for pensions. With the revaluations, companies became take-over targets for their overfunded pension plans, bought, raided, loaded with debt and broken up/sold. Think Mike Milken & junk-bond buy-outs. Most of those good companies died when they couldn’t service debt payments. Hurt a lot of people’s retirements.

Bottom line, nobody is all good, or all bad (except the current occupier).

If all Trump does is break the GOP and medical monopolies, he will be viewed as a great president.

“I’ve said Trump is going to be nominee. And was never under the illusion that Cruz, IF he did win the nomination, was going to have it easy in the general. And now I don’t think he can unite the Conservative base

I just live in Realsville and I know that primary election success doesn’t translate into general election wins . The reality is Trump has big problems not with just the base but the general public as well. You can pretend they don’t exist or that the myth of the Reagan Democrats will save the day. Romney did very well in 2012 with independents over BHO. Winning without the base on board never works

Having said all the above, it becomes more and more apparent that despite the likes of Ryan and Turtle, its crucial both the Senate and House remain in GOP hands should she win
Everything you posted is eerily similar to what was said in 2012 when it came to Romney.”

Thanks. That is a very realistic analysis and outlook. The fact is that no candidate is perfect - NONE. Particularly this year. Where we are right now is a pretty pathetic commentary on where both the Republican Party and the nation are at this point.

But pathetic or not, our job as patriots, as parents and grandparents, is to stop the Dems from implementing yet more of their plans. Their plans WILL, inevitably, destroy this country just as surely as the Roman caesars and their corrupt Senate destroyed that civilization. We may not be able to restore the seemingly idyllic world of the 1950s (and it wasn’t so perfect, it just looked that way), but we can at least slow the slide into the abyss. Trump, for all of his imperfections (and they are many), is IMHO the best hope to at least stop the slide for a while.

Sour grapes. Why doesn’t he send out an official looking “voter violation” to all the Trump voters.

Trump should hammer it home that Cruz has no route to 1237, and that he’s just playing the establishment spoiler role, but pivot more to taking on Hillary.

“Yesterday I mocked Trump for repeating over and over he wants to unite party and then proceeds to insult everyone and their wives. A Trumpster replied that Trump meant unite the grass roots, a stretch for sure but I will take him at his word. Now today I see over and over Trump supporters continue with mocking graphics and end zone dancing and wonder if the supporters got the message of uniting the party. For sure I am more turned off by Trump supporters than Trump himself- I speak for many on this.”

You are right. I support Trump, but I believe that we must act as a big family to win. We may have our occasional fights, but when it comes to threats from outside of the family we pull together.

Regrettably, many Trump supporters have acted little better than 5-year-olds. Some Cruz supporters have done the same. None are acting well, none are mature if they are doing that.

Trump supporters want Cruz supporters to back their guy in November, if he wins the nomination? OK, fine - I’m all for that. But extending a hand in friendship after a good, hard fight is better than kicking the other guy when he’s down and then pissing on him. The latter way ensures one of a permanent enemy...and we’ve got enough of them on the Dem side of the ledger to try to handle, without creating more. It is not only childish, it is self-defeating.

It is time to grow up, time to unify!

Cruz is right as usual. It isn’t just the polling that proves the point, but also where a significant amount of Trump’s support resides. He draws a lot of liberal democrats, and as we’ve seen in many elections with these so-called moderate republicans, you aren’t going to win by out-liberaling a liberal.
