My fantasy is for goofballs like her to experience same hardship of Americans during WWII, the Great Depression, WWI, the Civil War, the Revolutionary War. Then maybe she appreciate the gift.
Most NPS tour-guides are 1039 (ie part time) W3’s making about 16 dollars an hour and no benefits — college students, etc. I’ve known quite a few NPS people due to various reasons, and I find most to be pretty decent, patriotic people. The ones that aren’t though...Well, the gal in the article is exhibit A.

And nobody on the tour challenged her. If We had been there it would have been one of those moments where Mr GG2 rolled his eyes and says to himself “here she goes”. The schooling begins. LOL!

I fail to see how going back to the gold standard and closing the Federal Reserve would automatically shrink Federal employment by any amount. The definition of M1 was never tied to the gold stock. The current economic mess is not tied to Federal Reserve policies, either (although it probably didn't help anything, either). Monetary policy is not going to help since most economists agree we're in what Keynes called the Liquidity Trap, making monetary policy ineffective.
