Trump: Transgenders Should 'Use the Bathroom That They Feel Is Appropriate'

Republican Donald Trump says he'd be fine with Caitlyn Jenner using the bathroom of her choice at Trump Tower. (AP File Photo)

(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."

"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.

"That is correct," Trump said.

Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.

"Leave it the way it is," he said.

"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.

"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."

AD FEEDBACK

Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."

Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.

"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."

To be honest I was starting to think that maybe Cruz should quit the race so the party could unify behind Trump.

After listening to Trump this morning on the Today Show, there is no way Cruz should quit. Trump just proved the fraud that he is....sadly.

“You can’t just dress like a woman - that is being a transvestite - you have to get hormone treatment and a psyche evaluation showing you “changed” sexes to be considered a transsexual. I think it should be left up to the individual private business to set its own bathroom policy.”

LOL.. you are blind, eh? So should the sign on the door say they have to prove their pecker’s been removed and they’re on hormone replacement therapy”?

The delusion amongst many trump supporters is HIGHLY concerning. Like in the movie Moonstruck, I just want to slap them hard in the face and tell them to snap out of it!!

Sorry, 150%, not 200%.

Trump has been right at 40% of the delegates of each state, on average.

He cannot break that except in exceptional cases.

He needs 60% of the delegates going forward.

That is a 50% increase, or 150% over performance in order to secure the nomination by the first ballot.

Its not going to happen.

2nd ballot? He gets his hat handed to him as Cruz takes the nomination with ease.

Fighting the symptoms of leftist insanity has been a consistent losing battle - challenging its basis in political correctness is the correct battle to fight, and no one in the GOP has steamrolled the solons of political correctness like Trump has.

It’s calling picking fights you can win.

Well here is thing and it is a very fine line.

Trump may be a pragmatic choice to avoid Hillary.

But not trashing guys like Carson, Walker and cruz will at least be something of a voice for natural law.

It’s a bad idea because he has zero moral center. He will govern from wherever the wind is blowing.

He doesn’t give a crap if a dude walks into the Target bathroom while his daughter is changing his grandchildren’s diapers. He will just be curious how much money the dude spent at Target.

I’ll tell you what guys… I am a father of six daughters and I am against men using women’s restrooms… Regardless of their “sexual orientation”.... However, that being said… Our nation has much bigger issues at hand… Worrying about perverts or possible perverts Using the wrong bathroom… It’s a little a kin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Come on people… Let’s move on to the real issues here. We can’t let the media set the agenda for our conversation. Having Donald Trump caught in a “gotcha” question and then spending the day at nausea talking about this kind of an issue is not helping our country.

Yes, but now you have courts saying all this is not mental. So until you can change rulings you have to follow the current laws.

None of the Republicans Presidents wanted abortion. So what could they do about it in light of court rulings? Yap Yap Yap but thennothing until law changes.

There is not the law to support you or I or Trump to prejudice these teams people. In fact if anything the courts have strengthened their positions calling that and other things you and I call blasphemy normal.

Any other answer with current court rulings would only marginalized Trump.

None of that changes the truth I posted in the last one.

Perception is reality and the Cruz campaign has been given it’s last rites by the MSM.

David, if you came out in favor of men using restrooms with little girls what should I think of you?
