First the writer quotes Trump:

and then explains “it” as being the antecedent of this:
referring to companies that have canceled plans to move or expand businesses in the state as a result of the law, which bans transgender individuals from using a bathroom that does not match their gender at birth.
Someone will have to help me with this one. I would maintain that the antecedent of “it” is traditional restroom customs.

Now the whole concept is repulsive, but transgenders have been going to the bathrooms of their choice, by necessity, all along.

You're right about that. But IMO it's a fight worth fighting.
Because this is not a trivial issue. No one on the national stage is pushing back hard against these PC demands. So the PC groups are getting bolder and bolder.
Now, let's look at it coldly, from a purely political stance. If Trump had gone on record as saying that men should use men's rooms, and women should use women's rooms, he would have GAINED votes, not lost them.
And that's because Hillary already has the gay vote locked up.

Define “Transgender”. How do you prove one is or is not Transgendered?
Progressive is what progressives do & support. While they are using whatever bathroom they want, Donald will make sure they have health care “PAID FOR BY THE GOVERNMENT.
He was asked the specific question. And he never said he wants men in a girl's bathroom. Or boys in a women's bathroom either.
