Cruz slams Trump’s ‘PC’ stance on transgender public bathrooms
Washington Times ^ | 4/21/16 | None

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Thursday said front-runner Donald Trump had defied “common sense” and embraced political correctness by coming out against North Carolina’s law barring people from using public restrooms of the opposite sex.

“He said he thought men should be able to go into the girls bathroom if they want,” scoffed Mr. Cruz, a U.S. senator from Texas. “Let me ask you, have we going stark raving mad? This is political correctness. This is nonsense.”

Asking you to see the bigger issue is a lost cause. You don't care about social issues or culture. I get that. Maybe you think it's ok for old men to share bathrooms with young girls. Maybe you think there is no damage in teaching kids that it's ok to have two daddy's.

But more importantly, this shows that a tough guy who's going to teach the communists a lesson, and is going to wipe out Islamic terrorists, doesn't possess the testicular fortitude to stand up against a small group of perverts who can't tell the difference between right and wrong. This is very telling about Trump's lack of character. He will never build you a wall. He doesn't have the courage to stand up to the hundreds of millions who will demonize him including the media and all of his NYC friends. He'll fold like a cardboard box in a rainstorm.

Why should Putin fear a guy that allows a bunch of queers to dictate policy? Putin would never allow that to happen and neither would the communist thugs in China. Yeah, they're going to respect and fear the leader of the country that won't even stand up for the right to privacy of their little girls. The issue isn't as important as the lack of gumption.

Me either. I suspect that some of these people, in the last election, called themselves libertarians. They’re not any kind of defintion of a conservative, and saying that doesn’t mean that I think the establishment GOP is either.

“How typical. Cruz never leads, he follows. After focus grouping”

Another idiotic statement by a Trumpet. You may disagree with Cruz, but he has been the leader on many conservative issues, whether you want to admit it or not.

And Trump is totally wrong on this transgender issue. Cruz’s response is exactly on target.

Again, you need to find something to think with.

Under these new laws, any man can hang out in the girls bathroom or locker room and there isn't a damned thing you can do about it. If you go into the room and throw the guy out like a normal society, you will be charged with assault. What you are advocating for removes the illegality of pervs being pervs. Of course, being the fine parent you are, you could wait until the perv does something specific to assault your child. Great. Now, thanks to your genius, I'll have to go into the bathroom to make sure it's clear before my wife or daughter goes in. What a mess you types are making society.

Under these new laws, if I attack a guy for being in the same restroom as my five year old daughter the government arrests me. And you're fine with that because pervs are already in these bathrooms. Laws offer no deterrent to crime? Please, please tell me you don't or won't have children.

We will get Obama’s pick as soon as the election is over because Trump or Hillary will win. Gun control will be at the top of their agenda. Yeah, we are that close to losing our republic.

No. That picture does not indicate what you think it does and has been debunked several times. See here:

And I was actually commenting on how stupid it is for A State to stand up to something their people don't believe in, and to have phony Hollywood and others saying they don't have a right to do that...

Since when doesn't a State and it's people have a right to do that? Where in that State's laws does it say they can or can't? Just because a bunch of pedophiles think it's ok, that gives them the right to do it?

And since when do other States have the right to tell their people they can't visit that State because of certain rulings? Where is that printed at, besides the media and talking heads teleprompters?

This is nothing but a ‘bullying offense’ towards a State that wants to support it's people...whether Trump says it or Cruz says it, the people of N.C. says it or doesn't say it...

Do I like what I think Trump says? I don't know yet, I'll have to wait for a few days and see what curtain he just opened, as you know he has opened a lot of them in the past months, that's why we know how corrupt this whole country is...get back to me later...

They are being written and how do you propose enforcing them?

Just because a law sounds correct does not make it good law. I am not going to carry official papers around to show I can use a bathroom.

Not if he provides a solution at the same time.

The solution is every facility becomes single occupant. Better security anyway.

Not trying to justify Trump, but is he all out for not having a War on Women remark like Romney had?

Ted wouldn’t have mentioned Illegal Immigration if Trump didn’t make it an issue. He would have run his entire campaign on some baloney ‘Family Values’ crap, while banging Samantha Carpenter, and having take out Prostitutes.

Not exactly practical to build 20 bathrooms in every school and public building, nor is it practical to build 20 or 40 or 60 locker rooms in schools.

I personally think the most practical situation isn’t for the President or federal government to even get involved and instead let the states do things themselves. But YMMV there.

Yes it is practical. The restroom is large enough to hold stalls, then it is large enough to have walls. There is very little difference.

So far as locker rooms, either declare them a thing of the past OR build the individual stalls.

It will be more secure, better for insurance, and in the long run no more costly. I’m betting it’s cheaper to put in those individual fiberglass stand up showers than it is to build those elaborate tile showers.

Locker rooms should be clothing required areas.

It isn’t hard to do. Insure privacy, security, insurance protection. Make it all individual.
