I saw him at The Fox Theater in Atlanta in 1998. Half the show was all his classic hits which was great (even did a medley of several of his hits because he had so many), the other half of the show was nothing more than screeching and noise.

When you have David Gilmour play your song with just as much soul, you are one of the greatest. TO me Prince was such an underrated guitarist. 2007 he did the best Super Bowl Half time show ever, in my opinion.

Diversity was taught to me by music. It was to me a way that we were all equal and no one judged by color. Like you it is hard to believe I go from Pink Floyd, Old Rap, to Prince and even Wagner. Music is a way to transcend, Race and back grounds..

Prince was raised a Seventh-day Adventist, a small but significant Christian denomination.1

That performance is stunning. It showed just what an amazing guitarist he was. With that said I can’t stand his music, I’d rather hear 10 women yelling at me in stereo. I never understood why his guitar talent didn’t show through in his music. Maybe I missed something. Oh well, rest in peace.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - Tom Petty, Dhani Harrison (George's son), Prince, Steve Winwood, et al

An interviewer asked Clapton once, "How does it feel to be the greatest guitar player in the world?"

"I don't know," Clapton replied, "Ask Prince."

The witch Sinead Oconner became famous singing one of Prince’s songs. Nothing Compares to you.

I never understood why his guitar talent didn’t show through in his music.

And he was an extremely talented guitarist and I was very surprised to hear his talent

His death is less a news story about the unexpected demise of a very well-known and talented musician but more about the significance and priority this nation wrongly places on celebrity and the popular culture.

This....

Seems that he was a total recluse without anyone there to take care of him, and trying to treat the illness on his own. I wonder how long he was in the elevator before he was found.

You may not like his music, but it certainly wasn't mediocre.

It's okay to not like music that is well crafted, well played and well produced.

Prince didn’t fool around, he made sure any of his videos were quickly removed.

Megyn was going absolutely drooly-ga-ga over Prince tonight...repeatedly.

I wonder if her bedroom is done in purple.

Meh. Never listened to him. Too weird for me - I preferred Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart and Arthur Brown.
