That Moment When 2016 Hits You (Noonan)
Wall Street Journal ^ | April 22, 2016 | Peggy Noonan

Posted on 04/22/2016 1:04:11 PM PDT by Milhous

Have you had your 2016 Moment? I think you probably have, or will. The Moment is that sliver of time in which you fully realize something epochal is happening in politics, that there has never been a presidential year like 2016, and suddenly you are aware of it in a new, true and personal way. It tends to involve a poignant sense of dislocation, a knowledge that our politics have changed and won’t be going back.

How’d you get past the pay wall?

“Cruz supporters will sit home, just like they would have if Rubio was nominated.”

Then we’ll know whom to personally thank for President Hillary.

And I do mean personally.

Berni voters won’t do it for him. Bernie voters cannot help Trump win states like Texas which are must wins for a Republican.

Trump adheres to George Washington’s advice to avoid foreign entanglements. That’s why DC empire builders hate Trump. It seems to me that foreign oligarchs now own America. Although the House of Saud may soon sell their $750 billion ownership stake in American.

Noonan grew up on the coattails of a maverick leader, Reagan, and then switched and fell in love with the establishment lights of D.C.

That is exactly makes Cruz voters say never Trump. Bully tactics won’t work with me. I’ve stood up to them before and I can do it again.

WSj says walls don’t work.

So they put the site behind a pay wall.

Eh. My moment came when the Courts imposed faggot-marriage.

I realized I no longer had a country.

I was a Cruz guy, before he revealed himself as a slime ball.

Peggy Noonan on Bath House, in 2008:

"...his victory would provide a fresh start in a nation in which a fresh start would come as a national relief. He climbed steep stairs, born off the continent with no father to guide, a dreamy, abandoning mother, mixed race, no connections. He rose with guts and gifts. He is steady, calm, and, in terms of the execution of his political ascent, still the primary and almost only area in which his executive abilities can be discerned, he shows good judgment in terms of whom to hire and consult, what steps to take and moves to make."

Peggy, your are a naive, insufferable maroon.

It was 2006, same for me.
In December of 2005 the House passed an enforcement measure that sparked massive demonstrations by the National Council of the Race and other pro-illegal alien groups. That is what lead to the McCain/Kennedy first attempt at amnesty, they repeated it again in 2007 and then again in 2013 with Rubio’s gang.
They intend to never enforce the laws and borders.
Trump is our only chance to keep our country.

I kept clicking links in the various articles. However, there’s an easier, sure way to do it. Google the title of the article and Google will get you in.

Remember this quote from the emotionally incontinent dingbat Peggy:

“Young black men will save our country. I’m not sure completely what I mean by this but—they’re tough and smart and know how to survive...Anyway, something just tells me they’re going to save our country.”

That doesn’t work for me. Google takes me to wsj or something that links to wsj, and then leaves me outside the paywall.

Milhous wrote: “Noonan seems pretty much #nevertrump in spirit, if not in fact. Perhaps Noonan’s oped indicates that the establishment is now in the acceptance stage of their Trump grief.”

Actually, I subscribe to the WSJ and I’ve read all her recent essays. She has been harshly critical of the GOP establishment as being out of touch with the base and failing to respond to their legitimate concerns.

Noonan is harshly critical of some of Trump’s antics. But what lady wouldn’t be?
