Volvo trucks and heavy equipment are pretty good, I believe they are made here. My brother has two Volvo front end loaders that he has had good luck with. Thier cars have been crap since the mid-sixties.

I played with a lot of electric cars in my (mis-spent) youth.
They can make all the electrics they want, but until fuel that can be placed into a vehicle in about five minutes; that will allow 5 hours worth of driving; they will only market to a small percentage of drivers.
