In Maine, Ted Cruz Outmaneuvers Donald Trump Again on Delegates
NBC News ^ | apr.24, 2016 | Mark Murray

Posted on 04/24/2016 4:56:54 PM PDT by Innovative

Nineteen of Cruz's slate of 20 delegates were picked for the Republican national convention, meaning that at least 19 out of the 23 delegates Maine will send to the convention in Cleveland will be Cruz supporters — which would benefit the Texas senator if the Republican presidential-selection process goes to multiple ballots.

Back in March, Cruz won Maine's caucus contest, grabbing 12 pledged delegates — versus nine for Donald Trump and two for John Kasich. The delegates who were chosen in Maine are bound to reflect that allocation on the first ballot of voting.

But if no presidential candidate wins a majority of the 2,472 delegates, then many of these reps would be free to support the candidate of their choice after a first round of voting at the convention.

There are a lot of political groupies. I remember this type from college. They cling to this type stuff. It’s their social life. They want to belong and feel important.

This type person would be far more in line with the GOP establishment. They’re a bunch of suck ups.

Wow, I heard talk about this, does anyone know if that’s a delegate he slipped the money to? It looks like he was trying to hide it up the paper, but the guy too it first instead of the money.

Anyone know who the guy is that Cruz gave the money to?

That is spot on, Williams.
Cruzers like to paint Cruz’s corruption as shrewd deal-making by Cruz, but Trump has forgotten more about making deals than `Wesley Mouch/Count Chocula/Grampa Munster’ has learned in his short but remarkable career as a professional politician.

It’s very simple. These delegates are taking their marching orders from Priebus & Co.
Cruz is the GOP establishment’s last hope to lose to Hillary Clinton so they can keep their hoity-toity jobs.
And it’s hard to figure who is more naive: Cruz or his supporters. I’m thinking it must be mass hysteria as they face getting their skis waxed again by Trump this Tuesday.

Since my beginnings as a conservative in my early teens, one of my primary attractions to the philosophy of the right was the embrace of objective morality, often expressed or encapsulated in the adage that, "Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's right, moral or ethical." True conservatives (like Cruz and his supporters claim to be), hold forth this argument when it comes to any number of contemporary issues (i.e. abortion, affirmative action, etc.) stating that just because it has been made legal does not make it just.

However, when it comes to delegate poaching and damning the will of the voters, Oily Cruz and his cultists muster the defense claiming, "it's not against the rules," and, "it's not our fault Trump doesn't know the party rules for each state." It is a slick lawyerly dodge that essentially abandons objective morality, claiming that if the Republican Party sanctions something, it must be right and virtuous.

As I understand all this thievery stuff ... Cruz is getting people to vote for him AFTER they fulfill their Trump obligation which, if Trump gets his 1237, there will be no NEED for any of these thefts

At least, that's the way I understand it

Please correct me if I'm wrong

Ted reneged on a deal he made.

AHEMMM...

Trump is for open bathrooms.

Trump donated to Hillary, Reid, Schumer,, etc. Has he ever donated to a conservative? Why can't his children vote for him in NY, oh, they are registered democRATs.

Trump supports abortion including late term.

Trump supports eminent domain land seizures for private companies through crony government deals. And he has used it for himself.

I do not see Trump as vile as the two communists, Hillary and Bernie, but he is not a constitutionalist like Cruze. I know the Trumpists will flame me, but I do not choose to believe his reality TV transparent game.

I would vote for Trump against the communist nominee, and hope for the best, but I think Cruze is more principled.

That is correct. Cruz is counting on wheeling and dealing at the convention, and getting to a second vote.

I think ‘Ted the Sleazeball’, is actually hoping, by challenging delegates, is hoping to steal it on the first ballot. Screw the voter, full Sleazeball ahead...

Can’t wait until Lil Kim out thinks Trump. This is a no brainer. Trump hasn’t learned a thing and he’s going to be our president.
Face palm.

"Maine is a boosh establishment state. Not to mention home of the boosh compound."

Partially valid. We have LePage, and re-elected him ... when it comes to conservative wysiwyg, LePage has Trump beat by a lot ... and I like Trump.

The Bush's are an anomaly of old money ... an outcropping.

The real problem is, of course, the Massachusetts libs and lib sensibilities bleeding into Portland and the south.

This is what you call ‘principled’???? He and his campaign made a deal with Maine, and they broke it...pure, simple, fact...they lied, they cheated, and that’s PRINCIPLED???

I’m sorry, I must have been brought up in a different era, where my Victorian, Italian Catholic grandmother who raised me would have whipped my butt so hard I wouldn’t have been able to sit down for a month of Sundays...

PRINCIPLED...what a load of B.S.!!!

I don’t really think half of them are true Cruz supporters, I think most of them are being paid to write this crap and get paid for how much they post...

We are a Christian Nation along with a lot of other freedoms we are fighting for...I am born, raised, went to Catholic School and been raised to believe in the Bible and the Word of God, the same as all other Religions are allowed to do, and I can’t believe that any Christian person would allow themselves to believe in the garbage that the Cruz family from Father on thru would support...

I do not know what you say about Maine and lieing and cheating. You did not refute any of my statements about Trump which are pretty disgusting and all public record. Maybe Trump has turned around to God, I have not seen it, but I hope it is true.

And I’m not going to, because for one they aren’t true...just because you believe the lies that Cruz tells, doesn’t mean I have to, and won’t...

Trump is first an American, born on American soil, raised in America with American values, built his business the American Way and raised his American Family the same way, by being an American...

He is World Known, he’s a Multi-Billionaire with Hotels, Golf Resorts, Fine Resturants, and knows a lot of nice people...

What has Cruz done? Where was he born? What values did his Father and Mother teach him? What has he done for the American People? Oh I know, wrote the TTP bill with Paul Ryan for obuma, supported the CFR, took money from Goldman Sachs and Citibank and then lied about it, reasons for the FEC investigations...lied about Dr. Carson, which cost that man votes...lied about Rubio, crawled further into bed with the Bush/Clinton Cartel, and then as some would say, hired a ‘hooker’ for sex and then married his 3rd cousin...oh but all of that is okay because it’s Saint Cruz....B.S.!!!
