Bill Kristol Names Romney, Rubio, Tom Cotton As Third-Party Prospects If Trump Wins Nomination
Brietbart ^ | 25 Apr 2016 | Patrick Howley

Bill Kristol, son of Irving, names Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% , Mitt Romney, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) 79% , and others on his hypothetical shortlist of third-party candidates that he could run if Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee.

The “Weekly Standard” editor and self-styled neoconservative power broker is back to talking about a third party, declaring that a Trump victory in Indiana would force him to re-focus on his so-called “Latter-Day Republicans” independent ticket. A third party could help to split the vote on the Right and elect Hillary Clinton president, which would allow Kristol to stave off the Trump threat and regain control of the party in 2020 without actually having to formally support Clinton.

But Kristol now has a shortlist of predictable options, including Mitt Romney and neoconservative rising star Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas.

Trump’s candidacy has also proved beyond a doubt that the supposed conflict between establishment Democrats and establishment Republicans is mostly a charade. They prefer one another over any kind of populist/grassroots movement in their own party. As far as they’re concerned, voters are there to rubber-stamp RNC/DNC candidates of choice, not to select their own.

I’d vote for Joe Cotton over Tom Cotton.

Go for it.
There were lots of voters who held their nose to vote for Romney and lots of evangelicals who refused to vote period.

I suspect his support would be even smaller, and would take from Clinton.

Same with Rubio and same with Cotton, who has zero national name recognition.

Appears Kristol and the GOPe have zero political instincts and putting their entire strategy down as party loyalty above all.

Only party loyalty that exists today are with people who have gained financially from their Republican participation in some fashion.

George P. Bush is the son of Yeb and heir apparent to the Bush dynasty. Making it clear that Bush won’t get away with monkey wrenching 2016 without ruining Yeb Jr.’s prospects will give the Bush clan great pause.

I can see Romney doing it to spite Trump. Never could have imagined old Mitt to be quite so nasty but he’s turning out to be among the nastiest of them all. And, what does he care about his political future? He doesn’t have one, except as a disruptor.

Back in ‘94, Snake John Warner recruited a former GOP Gubernatorial candidate to run 3rd party SOLELY to keep the win from Ollie North. It worked and the D was re-elected. The 3rd party candidate, who’d have had a promising future despite his gubernatorial loss, hasn’t been heard from since.

These are their 3 subscribers. I guess it sort of makes sense. Without them, they may not have any subscribers. I believe Jeb Bush, McConnell, Graham, Ryan, Ted Cruz, Mr. Haney’s brother who is still alive, and a guy running for dog catcher in Shovelhead Manitoba are also subscribers.

“My wife said this about Hillary a long time ago,”Women know a bitch when they see one.”

Now that right there is funny and IT IS TRUE. If you think that women haven’t figured this out.... Your wife is spot on.

When you see PIAPS campaigning, don’t you just imagine how disgusted and frustrated she must feel having to even be among and interact with “the little people”.

Do you remember how she was quoted while First Lady as having Loathed the military.. and remember that quote about “f..n J... Ba$...s” ??? can’t even type that filth on FR.

I’m hoping Trump will bring all that back to the surface reminding people of “crooked Hillary”.

>>In the case of Bill Kristol, make no mistake. He is now campaigning for a Clinton victory.

He knows that Clinton seals the deal for America’s slide into a hybrid form of socialism and neofeudalism which is called Progressivism.

Kristol is a pimp. He never could have outfought Trump.

But I never knew, until this day, that it was Romney all along.

"he was one of the first to float Sarah Palin’s name as VP for McCain which turned out to be a disaster for ‘08."

So, you think Palin cost McStain votes?! Sorry Mitt, but without Palin, Johnny boy would have gone down as the biggest loser in US history. The real disaster for '08 was John McCain.

If Trump is going to get slaughtered by Hillary, as the last 50 polls say he will, then the Republicans will lose not only the Presidency but also the Senate, House, and 9 governors. To stop this devastating loss from unfolding, conservatives need to field a 3rd party candidate who won’t win (like Trump won’t win) but who could bring conservatives out to vote for the rest of the GOP ticket—your senator, your congressman, your governor, etc. Otherwise, it will be 2008 all over again, but this time with something worse than Obamacare. This is what Kristol is worried about, and it makes a lot of sense to me.
