Please, FBI — you’re our last hope: ... Hillary Clinton’s emails

Full Title: Please, FBI — you’re our last hope: The Democratic Party’s future rests upon your probe of Hillary Clinton’s emails

To the Honorable James B. Comey, Jr. and all the good people at the Federal Bureau of Investigation,

The majority of the Democratic Party does not believe there is an ongoing FBI criminal investigation regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails. They believe, as the former Secretary of State has told them, that your work is merely a “security review,” or as one Democratic strategist call it, “another BS scandal.” Your work, thus far, has been relegated to yet another “witch hunt.” In fact, Clinton and her campaign have managed to convince millions that former secretaries of state did the same thing, which of course isn’t true.

Also, an interesting brand of logic has been used to rationalize ignoring your email investigation. While the number of agents working on this case is said to have been around 100, some voters have actually taken solace in the fact recent reports only list dozens. Only a dozen FBI agents, say loyal supporters, isn’t that big of a deal.

Since your investigation has taken so long, many people believe that nothing has been found, or simply that Clinton is too powerful to face any serious repercussions. Any attempt to warn people that Hillary Clinton could realistically face criminal indictments is either viewed as a Republican scare tactic, or lunacy. Even many Bernie Sanders supporters, a group that would benefit the most from the FBI recommending indictment of Clinton, feel it’s either disloyal, or pointless to bring up the email controversy. The massive group think within the Democratic Party, fostered by years of circumventing political scandals, has literally altered the mindset of normally rational individuals, and voters.

I just read this Salon article where a Sanders supporter is basically begging the FBI to save Bernie's campaign hopes by indicting Hillary.

Again, I don't think at this late date that's a good result for American democracy. But the article did get me thinking and obliquely raised an interesting question.

Up till now everyone assumes that FBI Dir. Comey is a total straight shooter, and that if Hillary's not indicted, so far, it's because either: A) The evidence doesn't support it ... OR ... B) He already knows that his boss, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, will never approve indictment, and so is sparing everyone the useless drama.

In other words an assumption is that he's acting professionally, that he's above the political intrigue of Washington. We'd like to assume this is true, particularly for our important Law Enforcement personnel, but we have seen plenty of counter examples, particularly in the Obama administration with both Holder and Lynch waving off prosecutions of groups embraced by Obama and allowing vast illegality against critics (including Tea Party, AP, James Rosen, various whistle blowers, etc.)

So maybe Comey isn't the one Straight Shooter in the whole bunch, but just a really smart, really effective SOB. And what if the real answer is:

C) He wants to wait until the Donks have completed nomination of Hillary and are stuck with her to drop what he knows will be a campaign ending bomb.

Specifically he is acting just as politically as he assumes that the DoJ will, and so he is timing his efforts to do maximum damage to the Democratic Party and Hillary campaigns by time the release well past the time that either she can gracefully withdraw, or the convention can sidestep her and nominate Bernie or someone else.

Perhaps he's always hated Obama, and more and more hated his highly partisan bosses (although it's sort of "dotted line", FBI director is assured independence by a Senate confirmation hearing and 10 year term). Maybe he could care less about embarrassing Lynch, and in fact wants to create the maximum pressure and discomfort on her.

Maybe this is his last, greatest and final shot at setting things right and even a bit of revenge.

Maybe the charges won't end with "mishandling classified data" (the misdemeanor that Patreaus plea bargained to) but include the much more serious charges of lying to the FBI, suborning perjury, obstruction of justice or even bribery charges based on what recovered emails and Clinton Foundation gift records show. But fat Felony changes, and lots of them. (That's what the FBI and Federal prosecutors due to most people they indict, throw the book at them to intimidate them into plea bargaining down.) For 2012, the US Department of Justice reported a 93% conviction rate.

No one seems to consider that possibility, but they should. Assuming that everyone in Washington is highly partisan, cuts corners, and does what's best for themselves and their team should be the default operating assumption. Assuming THIS ONE GUY is actually a boy scout seems naive and unlikely

Ya know things are getting strange when it’s Salon wanting Hillary to be (deservedly so) indicted.

This may be the first article from Salon that I had to agree with (not that we have the same final objectives, but I’ll give them the Hillary thing on this one).

What planet is this?

Hildabeast is too conservative for the liberals. They want all the free stuff the Bern will give them.

The day Biden dropped out, I discussed the scenario in which he would ride in on his white horse and save the party. If that is what happens, it is a brilliant move between Obama and Biden. Uncle Joe would not have had to spend money and would have had to endure the Clinton slime team, who would have gone for his jugular. He can pick up the pieces at the last minute and run unscathed by the primary process.

Coming from Salon, I can only assume that they are all in for Sanders. My hope is that the indictment comes in October, too late to do anything about it. There are just too many useful idiots, especially in our youth, that would vote Bernie over Trump should he get the nomination in June or over the Summer.

Yep.

Even some liberals can now see the wreck of a country we’re in.

When they figure out it’s Obama pushing it along, I’ll be in total shock.

Perhaps that day will come (for a few of them, anyways). Well, maybe 1 or 2 will figure it out.

Can it all be a Coincidence?

I’m still digesting the source article from this 2012 post.

They hate her for being part of the Uniparty, that is why the GOPe don’t mind her being elected.

Comey will act, he cannot afford not to. Otherwise the Hillary precedent nullifies any future espionage/treason trial in the future.

Even if Lynch Stonewall’s, I bet the findings get leaked by “accident”.

Yep, the Sanders lemmings can’t do basic math.

They think a bankrupt country will pay off their student loans (which are never forgiven in bankruptcy court).

Then again, maybe they can just print more fake money until it takes a day’s wage to buy a loaf of bread (as prophesied)......

No possibility whatsoever of an indictment.

The most we can realistically hope for is that fed up FBI agents will leak the referral after the Obama "Justice" Department refuses to consider it.

October would be good. Then a lot of the early voting ballots willl be in and be voided. Unless the Dems can pull out the ‘this is a vote for the Dems, not just Hillary!’ and then give the votes for whomever is the Dem candidate anyway.

The uniParty will close ranks, protect the PIAPS, and allow Hillary to add to the Clinton bathtub ring in the White Crib.

It makes me wonder what the hardworking FBI agents doing all the real work on this case really think, every time they hear the sound bite “oh, it’s just a security review, nothing to worry about, standard stuff.” Especially when they have to know the chances of any of their work coming to any result are minimal, at best.

Hildabeast is too for sale to the highest bidder for the liberals. They have no idea who will pay her to do what, so they have no confidence that she will support their ideologies.

Hillary Clinton cannot be bought!

She can, however, be rented.
