This month, Stanford University students voted on a campus resolution that would have their college require a course on Western civilization, as it did until the 1980s.
Stanford students rejected the proposal 1,992 to 347. A columnist at the Stanford Daily explained why: Teaching Western civilization means "upholding white supremacy, capitalism and colonialism, and all other oppressive systems that flow from Western civilizations."

Great men have always done so, and confided themselves childlike to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being.

My guess is the students at Stanford who are attending classes and doing the course work at done in 4 years. That is because they spent their time studying.
The clowns that vote on this crap are on the six year plan.
As a first step, I suggest that on graduation day all Stanford grads be given degrees from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, and all AAMU grads be given degrees from Stanford.
That would be a HUGE move towards ending the oppression.
Western civilization is based of Judeo-Christian foundations. Followers of God of the Holy Bible worship God not the “sacred” state. Leftism is a jealous god and demands no other god before it... so any competition is to be eliminated. Explains the Leftist love for Islam... as Islam as in socialist statism, “god” and the totalitarian state are one.
Why? Self hate. Then they put that hate on the rest of us. Their loud talk about sensitivity, compassion, inclusive, are all meant only for those who they agree with. No such allowances are made for those who have the nerve to disagree. And why are students being allowed to vote on what classes are offered anyway? Self hating administrators who are so ashamed of their influential positions that they abdicate all responsibilities to those who are among the most ignorant people on earth.

I was in college/medical school when the whole “consult the students about what is to be taught” nonsense kicked off.

Of course, nobody really cares what the students think. It was simply a device for Leftist faculty to push the Overton window further to the left while hiding behind student activists who were grade-grubbing by doing what The Man wanted done.

I think it’s more basic than what he says, which is “standards”. That the West has standards, and the left hates standards.
Well the left has standards too. And they enforce them with an iron fist. Their standards revolve around equality. Anything that infringes on equality they consider oppression.
So if it isn’t standards what is it? It’s excellence. The left abhors excellence because it’s anathema to their predilection for equality. Capitalism and Western values instead treasure and reward excellence.

are all the blocks that built modern civilization and produced most of the wealth extant in the world. Without the Europeans, and especially the English, the advance of civilization would have been much slower and probably would have reached a much lower plateau before decline. The poor of the world would not be nearly so rich as they are today.
