Cruz Picks Nation’s Most Aggressive Champion of Offshoring as Vice President
Breitbart ^ | April 28, 2016 | Julia Hahn

Posted on 04/28/2016 5:06:54 AM PDT by maggief

After being mathematically eliminated from reaching 1,237 delegates, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% responded by appointing former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate.

The appointment, however, could have unintended consequences given Fiorina’s pivotal role in developing the controversial offshoring model favored by tech companies today.

In particular, Fiorina’s record could shine unwanted attention on what has been a similarly uncomfortable area for Sen. Ted Cruz, such as Cruz’s offering an amendment to increase the H-1B program by 500 percent, his 2015 vote to continue allowing Chinese currency manipulation, and his 2015 vote to fast track President Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement—all votes which have been highlighted by the Trump campaign in recent months.

During her time at Hewlett Packard, Fiorina sparked fury when she declared that “There is no job that is America’s God-given right anymore”— suggesting that American workers should be forced to compete with all of the world’s workers. Throughout her career as a high-powered businesswoman, Fiorina was an aggressive proponent of offshoring U.S. jobs, which she called “right-shoring”. As Forbes reported in 2002, “with the blessing of Chief Executive Carly Fiorina”, HP sought to “move everything” it could offshore.

Kim Berry, a former HP employee and registered Republican from California, described the Cruz-Fiorina ticket as “a good match”.

“They’re two peas in a pod that support TPP [the Trans-Pacific Partnership] and support the corporate agenda,” Berry said.

Berry— who is currently the President of the Programmers Guild, which advocates for the interests of U.S. tech workers and computer programmers— said that he views Cruz/Fiorina as the “globalist” ticket for “anyone supporting TPP and these one-way trade agreements that take down all of our trade barriers.”

Cruz is delutional. He is eliminated yet picks a VP.

That's one aspect of it. What bothered me is that he colludes ("allies") with Kasich on Monday, and then ignores Kasich completely to annoint Carly on Wednesday. That seems even weirder, and should queer the alliance for next week's vote in Indiana.

He is either the dumbest man around... or he is trying to lose. I cant decide which.

No one is that stupid. The GOPe has “The Thing”. The GOPe appointed Carly to be Teds handler. Ted will not be dropping out. There will be a convention floor fight.

I think the Cruz campaign, which never had an original thought, took McCain's idea of bringing in Sara Palin as a 'game changer', and now recycling that loser move. Keep in mind, Carly was part of the McCain campaign, so maybe she was put up as "game-changer-female VP-move" for the Cruzer-Loser.

On another note, both Lyin' Ted and Carly the Gamechanger use the same ...pause...pause...pause.... halting .....pause...pause...pause... clipped, speech pattern. Their collective style of speech is off-putting, stilted, condescending, always reminiscent of a dramatic parlor reading and ....pause...pause...pause.... annoying.

Our manufacturing trade deficit with the world is now approaching $1 trillion a year. We’re rebuilding other countries while weakening our own.

That is the key point above all others . And the manufacturing trade deficit with china is at least 500 billion dollars.China has perpetrated the biggest theft in history by stealing all our factories = production capability of merchandise = wealth creation = wealth.Trump will stop China and TPP . We have rebuilt china while the USA withers away. Only Trump understands the problem and how to stop China. not anymore not 1 single product made in china not 1 imported from China not 1 single dollar to china

Manufacturing = production = wealth creation. mass production with automation is the best way to increase production of items and so to create wealth , far above all others . We could have many factories in the USA that produce that 1 trillion dollars of merchandise we import from other countries, mainly China , steel mills, machine tools factories, computer chip factories, etc.

Manufacturing = production = wealth creation. Manufacturing = the industrial revolution before that there was no industry without industry there is no civilization no cities, only farms and the stone age.

Imagine if you put a huge city sized steel mill in the middle of a desert in Texas. then you put a machine tools factory right next to it . then a chip making factory. then a plastics plant. How many people and different kinds of other businesses will go there? accountants, electricians, managers, machine operators, custodians, mechanical engineers, construction workers, computer programmers, process engineers, electrical engineers,
electronics techs, electricians, automation specialists,
caterers and a million other kinds of jobs will sprout out of these. and all of these take their salary and spend it out in the city to create retail jobs, banking jobs etc.

Most hard core Trump supporters are honest enough to identify and admit where they disagree with him but nothing will wake up the hard core Cruz supporters here. They are in it to the bitter end and are unable to see any of his flaws.

Ted & Carly, the Globalist choice against Americans. Cruz supporters will find some way to deny this. Can’t wait to see their lame excuses about how conservative Ted is.

The media barely mentioned that Trump won the nomination last night with the historic shellacking of Cruz ,going over 60% , and the margin of victory and Cruz below 15% . This should be the top story today not “cruz picks fiorina as Vp”. The sweep at 60%, and Cruz’s below 15% has to end it for cruz , a knockout , and forced cruz to drop out now , last night but instead he is picking a vp? what?

This is over so he can’t do something like pick a vp . it’s absurd but that is the top story? and no one is talking about that it is over , that Trump is the nominee because of the margin of victory is so great ass to distinguish Trump as the nominee and diminish Cruz as a loser. all everyone is talking about is fiorina. The media still are distractors
NO the sweep victory should have been talked about endlessly today all day each time building up momentum and the bandwagon effect instead no mention of it as if it didn’t happen and then we talk about Cruz ‘s vp pick fiorina, and other things not the sweep that proves it is over .

fiorina as Cruz's vp was the top story yesterday and today again when it should have been Trump's historic shellacking of Cruz proving Cruz can't win

[I think Cruz wants Trump to criticize Fiorina. Then Lyin’ Ted will jump on the War on Women bandwagon. IMHO, this is all about women voters in Indiana.

Trump should not take the bait and stay clear of Fiorina, leaving that to Katrina Pierson, if anyone.]

Trump was asked yesterday at a Town Hall his opinion of the Snarley pick. He handled it masterfully and didn’t take the bait. You can tell he’s moving on from this nonsense and concentrating on the general election.

“...not aware of any of the candidates who have spoken against off-shoring work, so she could have fit in with any of them...”

Now you are aware of one: Trump:

“If I am President, I will not issue any H1-B visas to companies that replace American workers and my Department of Justice will pursue action against them”

The hardcore Cruz sycophants in my local Tea Party group are literally wetting themselves with glee over this announcement. All of a sudden, someone from the private sector who championed H1Bs and outsourcing and destroyed a reputable company is now a “strong constitutional conservative”....

So....Cruz IS who he says he isn't. Nothing new.

Yesterday's top story was Cruz picks Fiorina as VP.

Ditto for Today’ top Story.

No the top story yesterday and today should have been Trump’s beating Cruz so badly that Cruz couldn't even win 1 county out of 5 states proving no way can Cruz win.

fiorina as Cruz's vp was the top story yesterday and today again when it should have been Trump's historic shellacking of Cruz proving Cruz can't win

....Cruz is either the dumbest man around... or he is trying to lose. I cant decide which....

Yeah...that is a puzzlement.

My take is ....he loves the sound of his voice and is never happier than when pontificating in front of a camera.

He is intensely disliked and has no friends.....so he resorts to these shenanigans to feed his enormous ego.

Most of the VP coverage was negative; a desperate Hail Mary, Carly’s previous attacks on Cruz, outsourcing, business failures, $500,000 payment ... and then there’s that creepy singing.

...fiorina as Cruz’s vp was the top story yersterday...”

Yes and I was absolutely livid about it.

Trump’s sweep was historical and they ignored it for the Cruz dog and ponyshow.

It was a calculated move by Cruz to make this announcement to manipulate the day’s news and the MSM seemed to be in collusion on the plan.

Drudge was the only sane news outlet that ignored the vp tent show as the non story it was.

Trump is really up against the “Ministry of Truth” as in “1984”. Pray the people of Indiana are smart enough to grasp that this is happening and they vote for the candidate for America instead of the propaganda propped up circus.

I don’t even watch TV and what passes for news these days and haven’t for years, but my husband had it on and I paid attention for a minute to see the propaganda angle and I literally got a stress headache from the absurdity of it all.

Fiorina is a great choice. She can lay off Cruz’s campaign staff.
