Target's Stock To Get Flushed From The Bathroom Policy
Seeking Alpha ^ | May 1, 2016 | David Zanoni

Summary

Target’s bathroom policy is scaring away many customers.

Over 1 million people have signed a pledge not to shop at Target.

This is likely to have a negative impact on sales and the stock price.

I think Target's (NYSE:TGT) bathroom policy is a serious mistake from a business standpoint. The policy is scaring away customers, which is likely to lead to sales declines and a falling stock price. Target recently went public with its bathroom policy which states:

I hope this analysis is correct. If investors and the bottom line are hit, Target might rethink its policy. We can't boycott every lefty intimidated or controlled company, but we can make an object lesson of one.

My guess is that most of the petition signers will still shop there.

No price is too much to pay for the good will of that heavy-spending 0.5% transvestite demo.

There is no excuse for Christians to support the ungodly by giving God’s blessing of money to them.

Some will, some won’t. My bride has stated that she will only set foot in Target to spend the already purchased giftcards, and then never again.

She is rather stubborn, and I suspect that will hold.

Sometimes being politically correct can come back and bite you on the butt, REAL HARD. The Targetettes should have kept their big mouths shut and just do what they do.

Perhaps Target can survive on men dressing as women desiring to use the women’s bathroom.

Well we sure can move on to another after each one caves.

See the dirty secret is liberals love their money and their stuff, much more than we do. Taking money away takes power away. One of their core tactics.

For too long, leftist, soulless, crony-capitalists assume they can be “trendy” by following the asinine trends of the day. Their thinking only goes one way - exactly because their attitudes never have pushback or consequences.

Let’s hope this time its different. In the end, these people only care about money - and once they realize there ARE consequences, these rats will think twice about airing their cultural marxist attitudes in the future.

Unless there’s a similar sized boycott against Walmart, there’s been no effect on the stock price when compared to the shopping giant (both lost value this week.)

It will take time for any numbers to show in Target’s data. I for one gave up the REDCard I had, Aldi’s is cheaper.

I AGREE 1,000%. But IMHO you ain't seen nothing yet. Next up polygamy, bestiality, and lowering the age of consent below teens. This should open things up for the perverts that now seem to be running the show here in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah.

It isn’t that we are scared off...we are deeply offended with the immorality of this policy. I think there will be a discernible drop in sales. We will see how long that lasts, but I suspect there are quite a few who will simply shop elsewhere.

"My guess is that most of the petition signers will still shop there."

And that will have much to do with the effect of any boycott. People have to change their shopping behavior and to stay angry. If Target is not hurt, they the Left has won another battle in the social and moral war for America.

Yes, I think it is too early to conclude. Other retailers have fallen as well so the Target price movement in the short term is not conclusive.

Target has been the target of boycotts for years.

There was a boycott when Target extended benefits to same sex partners.

There was a boycott when Target finacially supported the push for gay marriage in Minnesota.

Unfortunately, these boycotts fade and lose their power over time.

People have short memories.

I vowed to never step foot into a Starbucks ever again and I only go when I use 1 of 3 gift cards given me. Target is off mine and my wife’s list. That’s it. We have a list of stores that we will not patronize for similar reasons. JC Penney is another.
