Maybe Trump is right - Europe is not pulling its weight.
To: Syncopated
This is the kind of BS Trump was referring to when he was talking about our NATO allies not pulling their own weight

Does this mean that Germany is defenseless on weekends and holidays?

Dissolve NATO. Protect only our friends: Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Israel and a very few others.
Crap on the rest of the world. They want Hillary for president.

Well, if they weren’t wasting billions on entitlements for Muzzie invaders maybe they would have enough for their military to train. As it is now, they have already allowed over a million Muzzie invaders into their country, so why even have a military force?

Don’t say that so loud! Putin is curious!

I remember being on duty for 36 hours straight once without sleep. I almost hit the German limit in one stint. I wonder if Germany’s enemies have limits like that.

no no no... Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, are all amazing allies who contribute as much as their budgets allow. I've served with these countries. They're amazing partners, and desperately dependent on American muscle for their existence and they appreciate it immensely.

Let’s be real.
The US’ list of actual allies goes something like: Canada, Australia, UK.
Most of the nations referred to by the term “ally” really should be called vassal states.
For example, if Germany was actually an independent nation and not a vassal state of the US, the wiretapping of Merkel would have been a really really really really really big deal.

I forgot to name this trio and you’re absolutely right.

The EU Working Time Directive has an Exemption clause:
Exceptions:
You may have to work more than 48 hours a week on average if you work in a job:
- where 24-hour staffing is required
- in the armed forces, emergency services or police
- in security and surveillance
- as a domestic servant in a private household
- as a seafarer, sea-fisherman or worker on vessels on inland waterways
- where working time is not measured and youre in control, eg youre a managing executive with control over your decisions
So they are talking our of their collective....

No problem, the US will take up the slack and expense for another seventy years.
Having once been property of the USMC I can assure you, I never even dreamed of anything like overtime rules.
In fact, I remember people praying that tomorrow would be hot enough to trigger the mysterious rule, which seemed to dictate to the tenth of a degree just where mercy began, that would permit us to receive chrome domes for a few hours.

Don’t forget mandatory Union coffe breaks.

It got this bad because NATO has been providing security cover for the slow, steady infiltration of statist, progressive-left government.

This is unbelievable. For me, a 12 hour day was short day. 16 hours days were common and sometimes we went even longer, with a waiver that was always approved. And we were aircrew. The ground pounders had no such limitations. And overtime?! No such thing as overtime in our military. Today’s German army would collapse even faster than the French army of 1940. Much faster.
