Trump Picks Former Goldman Partner And Soros Employee As Finance Chairman
Zerohedge ^ | 05/05/2016

Posted on 05/06/2016 4:49:36 AM PDT by Milhous

In an oddly ironic twist, today Donald Trump announced that he has picked as chairman of his newly launched fundraising operation none other than a former employee of the bank he has repeatedly criticized in the past, and which he used as a foil to criticize Ted Cruz: Goldman Sachs.

Trump announced that heading up his own personal fundraising operation as national finance chairman will be Steven Mnuchin, a long-time business associate, chairman and CEO of the hedge fund Dune Capital. More importantly, however, he spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs where he was most recently a Partner, having built a fortung of $46 million before launching his own hedge fund.

While employed at Goldman, he purchased the remains of IndyMac Bank (now known as OneWest Bank), the Pasadena, California-based mortgage lender that collapsed in 2008. "Notoriously press-shy, the executive endured 2011 protests on the lawn of his Bel Air mansion by foreclosed homeowners angered at his lender's handling of soured mortgages."

As Zero Hedge readers are familiar, Trump often critized his main competitor Ted Cruz for his links to the bank because of loans used to finance Cruz’s Senate campaign, and because Heidi Cruz was a one-time employee of Goldman. "I know the guys at Goldman Sachs. They have total, total control over him. Just like they have total control over Hillary Clinton,” Trump said in one debate.

You’re right. There’s a difference between hiring someone who used to work at Goldman and taking money from Goldman. Thank you for making me feel better about this situation.

Trump and unity do not belong in the same sentence. The man has trashed very single GOP candidate since the primary season began, along with insulting and denigrating every voting bloc not made up of white blue collar men. To talk about let’s all come together now is ludicrous. You’ve chosen this idiot, now you can get used to hearing the words Madame President.

Obviously Trump is a Globalist Lucifer.

I posted quite a few times that there would be buyers remorse next year and was told I was a lunatic.

It surprised me when my original search did not return this story. The goldmansachstrump keyword is the secret to the search. At any rate it appears that zerohedge falsely conflates working for Goldman with taking money from Goldman.

Morals of this story: search harder for Trump stories at FR *and* search harder for false conflations in news stories. Thank you all.

“The fact that Loser Cruzers continue to refight the primary shows that they prefer the Butcher of Benghazi to Trump”

Better a Loser Cruzer than a Globalist Trumpkin bought and paid for by Goldman Sachs.

Hey, I couldn’t help myself. Karma is just too much fun.

What, were you experiencing buyer's remorse?

Rest assured, he is the real deal, and I predict the nation's 45th President.

Hiring an ex-employee of Goldman is not the same as taking money from Goldman. Shame on Zerohedge for promoting that false conflation.

Trump’s the man, but he needs improvement. He needs watching and correcting. Luckily, he likes to get better, and is open to advice. I remember when McCain was the nominee. People on this forum wanted him to be a better candidate, and could say so, without implying that they were disloyal or weren’t going to vote for him.

“Shame on Zerohedge for promoting that false conflation.”

Then multiple times shame on Trump supporters for having spent the last year claiming Heidi Cruz is spawn of the devil for working at Goldmans.

You guys just are a little slow on the irony uptake.

After watching deluded Cruzlims defacto campaign for the Butcher of Benghazi the only buyers remorse I have is that I ever supported Ted Cruz. Why don’t you ask the families of Ty Woods and Glen Doherty if that is “too much fun”.

I always supported Trump from the start. It’s now clear that hiring an ex-Goldman employee is not the same as taking money from Goldman. Zerohedge fooled me. Shame on Zerohedge for promoting their false conflation.

Cruz took money from Goldman. Later he forgot that he took money from Goldman.

Goldman was the master in the Goldman-Cruz relationship. Trump’s the master in the Trump-ex-Goldman-employee relationship

Taking money from Goldman is not the same as hiring an ex-Goldman employee. Zerohedge fooled me. Shame on Zerohedge for promoting their false conflation.

No buyer’s remorse now. Why do you promote a false conflation?

I’ve been here 16 years

In those 16 here I’ve met one freeper who was a bank president in a small east Texas town who sadly died in 2009 I think

And an analyst with Morgan Keegan in Memphis where I assume he still is

That’s it

The majority of Freepers are either housewives or older women with cats or younger men with less than fulfilling jobs and no wife or older men with less than fulfilling jobs and maybe a wife but more likely divorced

Those are the primary demographics here

They view investment banks the same way Bernie youth view coal mines and corporations in general

So you’re wasting time explaining just because Heidi worked at GSCO didn’t mean she was Satan

Her work on behalf of free trade was more problematic

At GSCO she was simply a manager of financial planners in Houston

Freepers are stupid about investment banks

Does the average freeper in their lifetime ever deal with one

I’m dealing with one right now in New York on an SBA package

Not at all. I’m fully prepared to let bygones be bygones. But after seeing Dear Leader Cruz’s poop in the punch bowl farewell “press conference” it is clear he and his Loser Cruzers do not want that. They want a divided party. So be it. Five million Texans will vote Trump in November. Just some friendly advice: time to get on the Trump train. Could get rough for Cruz in 2018 if this nonsense continues.

The difference this then is they weren’t being egged on by a hysterical loser candidate in his farewell press conference and “conservative” media. Cruz wants a divided party. So be it. He’ll have to be dealt with then.

Loser Cruzers want the Butcher of Benghazi to win so Saint Rafael can run again in 2020.
