A Parting Shot to the Company Commissar
Vanity ^ | 6 May 2016 | Me

Posted on 05/06/2016 8:58:54 AM PDT by Vigilanteman

So here is the situation. About a year ago, I was convinced I would lose my job due to a confrontation with the company HR manager (a/k/a "The Commissar") over doing something non-PC which he made into a BFD.

But today, I am still here and he is retiring next week. We are even having a "We're Glad You are Leaving Party." So there is a card we are all being asked to sign with a short message (preferably 6 words or less). I am trying to keep it classy even though a lot of my co-workers are not. I thought about something like "Enjoy your Dacau" which would be subtle but non-confrontational. But I don't know. Here is hoping Freepers might think of something more appropriate.

Let's just say you poured a little sand into the Clinton machine without being caught. The sand causes the machine to slowly break down and she loses. So, now, you need to write something true, but still classy for her campaign's defeat. Any ideas?

When I wish to show disdain for someone at work, I merely leave the card unsigned. Let the recipient figure it out on their own.

Why not: “I am excited about your retirement.”

It means what you want to say, without any overt hint at the meaning.

Never, ever write/type/post anything at work that can harm your career. If you want to be there, keep it classy. If you don’t want to be there, line up a new job and fake it until you are gone (and even after that). The best revenge is to show that the loser is not even worth hating.

“Goodbye”.

Or, do not sign it at all.

Whatever you decide, have a dozen beers first. That usually leads to the best outcome.

Scribble something unreadable. It may linger in his head longer than anything else you could write.

Do not put anything in writing. Don’t sign the card. If he actually reads the thing and realizes you have not signed it that would be enough.

Press on and succeed as that would be the best way to irk someone like him. God knows you and what you do and that is more than good enough.

How about “Good Luck & Good bye” simple to the point & the bozo & the boss don’t have to worry about anything that might cause bad feelings or lawsuits.

1. Get two pens with different colored ink.
2. With one, write a “Best Wishes” and sign.
3. With the other, in another location on the card, write “You Deserve It” and make the signature unreadable.

I had an adversary at work who sought to sabotage me at every turn. I ended up taking a new job at a much higher rate and better technology. I sent her an anonymous thank you card for helping in my career.

An effect of this person’s attempt to sabotage you is you became a stronger and better person.

Tell her.

“You have helped make me a stronger, better person.”
