This WILL be on the 2016 Nevada ballot as well. It will be "Question 2".

It looks as though California will be considering a measure this November to legalize the recreational use of marijuana by adults over the age of 21.

A similar "medical marijuana" vote will be taken in Florida.

H. L. Mencken once said that there are two reasons people do things, the good reason and the real reason. The "good reason" for all marijuana referenda is to replace the de facto decriminalization of individual marijuana use with de jure decriminalization. The real reason is to entice weedheads to vote, thereby adding to the Democrat party vote totals. The proof of this in Florida, by the way, is that the referendum is the product of John Morgan, FL's top ambulance chaser, one of the top, if not the top, funders of Democrats, and a staunch supporter of Hillary!.

This effort started when Jerry Rubin ran for Mayor of Bezerkley in 1966. Appalling.

So all drugs should be legal?

It’s already “medically” okay in NV. This will make it fine to toke up anytime for those over 21 with less than an ounce of weed in their possession. i.e., recreational use.

The Democrats play both sides against the middle and the Republicans play the stooge. The war on drugs is the greatest tool in the leviathan’s bag. It has destroyed the integrity of all who are part of it.

I hate drugs and the damage they cause is almost incalculable, but the clear and present danger is a government completely loosed from Constitutional restraint.

Any “conservative” supporting the illegal war on drugs is a fool or a liar. If you want it, pass an Amendment; otherwise, your concerns have no more merit than your liberal brothers’ emotional appeals for ex nihilo government powers.

Well maybe the ensuing sprawl of dope croplands will get the water turned back on. In the liberal rock/paper/scissors, does dope beat snaildarters?

A few questions to be considered:

Does legalizing marijuana make our society more competitive in the world economy?

Does legalizing marijuana make it more likely that more people will be on welfare that you and I pay for?

Does legalizing marijuana make it more likely that you will need medical attention that you can not pay for and I will have to pay for you?

Agreed , the “War on Drugs” was simply Nixons revenge against the hippies... Making Marijuana a schedule 1 drug is the crime here.

To answer your questions...

More Competitive: It will have no direct impact but it will stop destroying lives with ridiculous jail terms that keep people unemployable for decades.

On Welfare: It will not impact... however it will free up BILLIONS going to Mexico as people will be able to grow their own at minimal cost.

Medical: It will not change usage so the answer is no.
