The answer is really simple. The professors who don't wish to support people who are pro-gun-rights merely need to have that noted in the class scheduling material and the school catalog.

Students will then be free to pick schools based on their political leanings. If I were considering attending a school where the professors are anti-gun, I would want to know.

Revealing such a bias after the fact is the height of deception and should garner a reprimand for the professor.

This science professor should appear on the loony professor list, so that students can avoid her.

I am quite sure she has many other quirks, as well. She should be required to state the political criteria for students she will, and will not write recommendations for.
