Classic example of how questions are worded drives the answer.

This question was: “Overall, would you say you favor or oppose laws that require transgender individuals to use facilities
that correspond to their gender at birth rather than their gender identity? Do you [favor/oppose] that
strongly or somewhat?”

Now suppose one had asked this question: “Would you favor or oppose laws that allow people of the opposite sex to use facilities that do not correspond to their gender, ie, men in the womens rooms, etc.?” One might get a different answer.

Or, suppose one had asked this question: “Would you favor or oppose laws that allow a man to enter the bathroom currently being used by young girls?” One might get a different answer.

14% of those sampled claimed to have a family member or close friend who is transgender

And it is also possible that the word "transgender" was written in cursive, or that many people don't know what the word means. I do agree with you that so many people in the general population know a transgender personally is very unlikely. Unless the survey population was skewed to have such a high result. Maybe just a junk science poll? I wonder if the population surveyed about global warming also includes a high percentage of people who know a transgender...

Boy, this country is stupid!

Fine America, let the perverts into the ladies rooms. When women are assulted or violated in the ladies rooms, you have no right to complain. A large majority in your country supported the stupid s**t!

It depends on what the respondents thought the question was. If a “transgendered” person has had all the surgery (Penectomy, boob job, etc), and takes hormones, and essentially looks like a woman, they should go to the ladies room. They would stand out and cause even more of a ruckas if they went to the men’s room. I don’t think most people would even notice those people going into ladies rooms. The problem with all this bathroom nonsense is the slippery slope of letting pervs who “identify as a woman” go to the ladies room to potentially assault or molest women and girls.

Could you please add one question to the survey, CNN?

‘Do you think the government should have the slightest say in who uses a bathroom at a business?’

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Or ask “Should the guy who ran the peephole camera on Erin Andrews be let out of prison?”

The following petition is more significant than a pro-LGBT poll imo.

"He can’t be gone too soon."

But Donald Trump said Caitlen Jenner could use any bathroom he/she chooses in the Trump Towers. So if he is President this won't change.

‘Do you think the government should have the slightest say in who uses a bathroom at a business?’

Unfortunately that point was conceded in the name of ending Jim Crow.

Who Trump allows to use the restroom on his company’s property is one thing. Who the Federal Government orders others to allow is something else again.

I would really like some transgendered male to tell me how it feels to be a woman. Since he is not now and never has been a woman, how can he know what it feels like to be a woman ? Can a woman tell me how it feels to be a woman ?

I agree, but Trump deciding that way makes me think we are really far gone culturally. I mean, I buy Target having this policy for pure social justice garbage reasons. But I don’t buy that with Trump. He seems to have his act together, at least as far as business decisions go. So what, he doesn’t know if his women customers care enough about men using their bathrooms?

We’ll see if Target is actually hurt by this or not in a few months or so. But I’m nor sure women actually care enough about it, which is pretty damn grim in itself.

It is NOT constitutionally a federal issue. The states must decide on this stuff. Trump should stay out of it altogether.

So it’s ok with you that Target says you can use any bathroom of the gender you feel you are?

I wonder if any of these polls pointed out that the same legal reasoning applied to bathrooms would also apply to locker rooms and showers.

And I wonder how that would affect the results.

And for those who’ve dealt with a mentally ill man in the bathroom sexually harassing women to feel like more of a woman, it is 80% opposed.

The problem with the “bathroom bill” branding is that it is not just the bathrooms. It is letting the mentally ill man (80%+ are male) who is biologically intact (fewer than 25% have the male plumbing removed) use ALL women’s facilities. Meaning a naked man can walk through the women’s showers, changing rooms, sauna.

The Department of Justice is actively prosecuting a school district that lets a biologically intact 16-17 year old boy use the girls’ locker rooms, but told him to change behind a curtain. He sued, and the feds agreed. For his comfort, he has to be allowed to be a naked boy in front of the girls.

Pure BS...

The LGBT (or whatever) held a press conference with a bunch of paper boxes labeled as signed petitions against HB2. Trouble was, THEY WERE ALL EMPTY!

Later when they produced the actual signed petitions, there were 2 stacks: 1 from out-of-state and one from in-state. The out-of-state stack was about 3-4" tall, and the in-state stack was about 1/4 to 1/3 of that.

Seems most of the protesters are not from around here....
