This story was more about his overwhelming support in Appalachia, an area economically depressed, white, and blue collar. Not the EVs, although those will count in the end.

“I have always wanted to visit that area-—I hear it’s quite beautiful.”

It is ;)

We escape Mexifornia and settled in East Tennessee, going Galt. We might have acted prematurely because Trump might make it worthwhile to work again. But moving here was the right thing to do - every day I thank God for this area, for letting me live here, and for letting me see it (I have deteriorating vision issues). Whether I’m driving to town, at the lake or AT, or walking around my land, it is amazing.

So are the people - unashamedly conservative and religious. When I first moved here, I was asked how I vote and where I go to church.

Come visit, and if you like it - move here!

Moving is out of the question but a visit is possible.

My granddaughter and friends drove down, from Boston, to the Bonnaroo Music Festival and loved the state.

I thought so too, but we got sick of feeding this fascist government.

And this area is perfect - most are armed and ready for a revolution. The folks in my holler talk about being able to block off the entrance and live self-sufficiently - and I never said a word about us moving here for that reason. we are living very low-profile.

I’m 83——moving is not in the cards for me.

I’m glad you made the move, though. You sound very comfortable with your decision.

As you see on the map, even a number of counties in Mississippi and South Carolina are considered Appalachia. The borders are a bit inflated in my opinion.

Visit Oconee County, South Carolina and see if you come away with the same impression.

You could move it a little further down the river.

I have decided to reverse those numbers. You are 38. A hot little 38 year old chick.

Oh, yeah I hear ya.

We are 54 and 51, and decided not to wait until we reach retirement age because it’s harder to make such a change when we’re not as able to do all the physical things involved with moving. And with the old house we got, we need to be able to remodel and fix every square inch! I think I’m going to drop into the basement through the weak floor any day now!
