Mike Lee: Trump 'scares me to death'
The Hill ^ | 5/11/16 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 05/12/2016 6:08:44 AM PDT by Sybeck1

Mike Lee(R-Utah) said Wednesday that he is not ready to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump

"I have not supported Donald Trump up to this point, I have not endorsed him," Lee said, according to The Washington Examiner.

"I have some concerns with him. He scares me to death; so does Hillary Clinton

. There is no easy choice right now." Lee had previously endorsed Ted Cruz

, before the Texas senator ended his presidential bid earlier this month. At the time, he said Cruz had a "proven record of fighting for our conservative values and for the issues that matter most to Americans."

The Utah senator said he plans to continue following the election and will make a choice in the future.

"I'll make the decision as best I can," he said, "but I'm not there yet."

Lee now joins several other Republican leaders, who have said they are not ready to endorse Trump or said that they don't plan to vote for the presumptive nominee in a general election.

Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that he was "just not ready" to endorse the presumptive GOP nominee.

“googly-eyed trumpers”

I guess when you’ve been here since 1998, you don’t have to observe the site owner’s request to chill on the name calling.

Nice.

people who allow our Constitution to be entirely REMOVED.

That is why we need a Constitutional Amendment to force the government to obey the Constitution, or so Levin says.

Since I was not among his most ardent supporters (to put it mildly), I can only encourage those who are to do so. Instead, they seem to still be groveling and worshipping his toenail clippings.

Your snarky sniveling remarks toward Trump supporters are getting tiresome. I would suggest you zip it!

I am all for people who had a job in the private sector - retired - built up a life experience - and then went into public service. It is public service not public employment. 90% of elected GOP establishment have never had a long term private sector job - they just play at being private sector and limited govt types but don’t actually live it.

Geez you’re sensitive. Trumpers call themselves trumpers. What part of that term seems insulting to you? And googly-eyed means starstruck. Have you not noticed a large contingent of star struck trump fans around here? I can provide quotes, but I can warn you, they’re embarrassing.

Like lawyers at the 19th hole, I imagine the members of the DC cartel yuk it up after work over how they pulled another one over on the rubes who keep believing their lies and and re-electing them.

Well, there’s a new sheriff in town, boys.

“Geez you’re sensitive. Trumpers call themselves trumpers. What part of that term seems insulting to you?”

Some black people call each other ‘nigger’. Do you call them ‘nigger’, too?

Your argument is self-serving and deflective.

Cruz's most ardent followers can't help it; they mirror the attitude of their hero.

Exhibit A: Mitt Romney, one of the nastiest, angriest, passive-agressive assholes, to ever grace the national stage.

No, he is Exhibit B. Exhibit A is daddy Romney.

Well, since the definition of Patriot among Trump-devotees is pro-Trump vs not-pro-Trump (kind of like how all Good is assigned to God and all evil is assigned to Satan), it makes it pretty easy to crow about “flushing out the treacherous.” It doesn’t make it any less similar to exactly what every Leftist Revolution does after its takeover. You might want to think about that.
........................................................
YOU might want to think about your continuing to sow seeds of doubt and salting the earth with derision for Trump as well as his supporters. THE TIME HAS COME THE WALRUS SAID: “Support Trump or shut up!”
Trump supporters are busy fighting the Clinton followers. We DO NOT LIKE AGITATORS in our own ranks. We do not expect perfection nor do we seek it. In the REAL WORLD, “perfection” does not exist. However, we have found the ONE candidate who is concerned about the things we are concerned about. At least SOME of those things will come to pass when Trump becomes president. That is good enough for us.

It scares the hell out of me to watch corrupt communists destroy my country and take away our freedom. Even worse is the ball-less bunch of eunuchs pretending to be the opposition. Wouldn't it be great if the gop came out in support of Trump's plan to build the wall and limit moslum immigration until we have a better screening system in place.

If Mike Lee is not a conservative, there is no such thing.

I love it when a question contains an answer.

‘Instead, they seem to still be groveling and worshipping his toenail clippings.’

I wanted to comment on this statement, but honestly it’s too stupid to warrant comment. All I can say is that it sounds like something a DUer would post—and feel very proud and special about, for having dreamed it up.
..................................................
I totally agree. We have an agitator in our midst.

The majority of elected GOP establishment are liek Paul Ryan - never had a non-govt employee job since they graduated college while espousing limited govt and cutting govt jobs and wages.

The GOPe motto: "Govt jobs and raises for me but not for thee".

Just why is this Mike Lee held in high regard? What business did he build? Run? Did he ever have to make payroll? Why is his life experience worthy of being a lawmaker over me and you? Trump? easy, he built stuff, hires thousands - deals with regulations in the real world. Has to meet payroll. He maybe a billionaire but his life experience is something I can relate to. I can't relate to a lifetime politician - what does he know of the real world?

It’s a real shame too; I liked Mike Lee a lot. I guess the threat of Romney and the Bushes working to change the Utah primary system (through the state-level GOP) and organizing and financing a primary opponent to his re-election really got his attention...
