This is a massive over-reaction. Free Republic has never been a free-for-all. It has always been a moderated forum. For instance, I’m an atheist, and I can post on here, but I’m not welcome to mix it up in threads ear-marked Religion. I can deal with that. I’m also not anti-abortion, but I know that the forum overwhelmingly is. So I generally don’t bother getting into pointless tussles over it. If Trump’s the nominee, he has my support. If Cruz or Rubio or Carson had been the nominee, any of them would have my support. No point crying over spilt milk. The point really is to get the most conservative President we can of the choices that remain.

I don’t care for Trump at all myself, but I accept he is going to be the Republican nominee. We have unite behind our nominee so Hillary Clinton is NOT elected the President of the United States. That can not happen.

I started out as a Cruz guy and still respect a lot of what he had to say, his shenanigans during the primary campaign are what drove me to Trump.
Ted ; you lost the primaries pretty badly, get over it.
Your showing state by state should have told you that you would have lost the general in a mass slaughter to even Hildabeast or Bernie.

The author does not seem to be interested in defeating Hillary. I’ve noticed that in a lot of anti-Trump people. They’re more concerned with keeping the elites in power, no matter which party they claim to belong to. Trump supporters on the right are the equivalent of Bernie supporters on the left. After reading the original article, I understand what Jim has done. I, too, was an avid Cruz man, but my man lost and Trump, despite his occasional crudeness, won the Republican primary. I can’t say that I’m all in for Trump, but I will certainly vote for him. 5 more liberal Supreme Court justices, and a ravenous out of control justice dept. would certainly put America over the brink! To the extent that Donald supports true conservative values, I will support him and I will hold my nose if he has any forays into enlarging the nanny state!
