Dozens of Methodist clergy members took a stand for equality on Monday in the hope that their church will re-evaluate discriminatory policies toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals during its 2016 General Conference, which begins on Tuesday.
More than 100 pastors, deacons, elders and candidates for ministry in the United Methodist Church released a letter publicly coming out as LGBT just one day before the churchs top policy-making body convenes in Portand to consider roughly 1,000 legislative petitions.

I did leave 35 years ago. I recently was speaking to a ffriend who was still attending a UMC Church. She said the Methodist Church has become un-Christian. I invited her to the Independant Baptist Church I attend, she is now there every Sunday. Another recovering Methodist.
Depends on which ones are senile, but still appreciate ‘good lookin’ men’. “Oh, he’s such a nice boy.” And, if you’re Southern, you know exactly what I mean.
I know which ones you’re talking about. And many are nice boys. Many appreciate any attention they can get.
I also attend an Independent Baptist Church. I grew up mostly attending mostly Baptist churches but went to an Methodist high school. I don’t believe the high school I attended would have put up with the gay agenda pushers.
Well, I’m talking about the ‘ladies’. You can’t get more ‘Peyton Place’ than our community. It”s insane.
Well, Im talking about the ladies. You cant get more Peyton Place than our community. Its insane.
Are you saying these homos are having sex with these ladies?
That church is surely missing God in its teaching. What a shame.
OTOH, John & Charles are roiling in their graves.
In Heaven, with GOD, and he is weeping.
Do you even know WHO John Wesley Was?
Proverbs 3
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Last year Mrs. Submariner were going through a trial with her daughter. Living in a 17 foot travel trailer in Virginia during the winter. There was a Bass Pro Shop across from the RV Park and we took time to go to lunch one day at their restaurant. The waitress wrote: Proverbs 3:5-6 on our check. It really helped. As Mrs. Submareener says: “Prayer, it is the most practical thing you can do!”
As my dad the old baptist preacher would say, “ write Icabod above the door and be done with it”.
It is written that a lot of folks get saved after we are gone. Maranatha!
Did you ever actually READ "Peyton Place"?
Everyone was NOT "doing" everyone else. Nor were they in Gilmington Ironworks, N.H., which is the town and people that the book is based on.
“More than 100 pastors...” Sounds suspicious, especially from an untrustworthy new source. To be responsible, the new source should show the list of names to be more than one hundred.
Also, it is ironic that the United Methodists are not united and probably are not methodical.
I was "SAVED" long ago !
And I have NO idea what "Marantha" is/means, but suspect that I don'/wouldn't believe in that either, if I knew what you were talking about. LOL
The one who shot a man just for snoring?
I believe that was John Wesley Hardin.
Enough already. Mainstream Protestantism has afork un the flow of the river
