Inside the GOP effort to draft an independent candidate to derail Trump
Washington Compost ^ | May 14 at 12:36 PM | Philip Rucker and Robert Costa

A band of exasperated Republicans — including 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a handful of veteran consultants and members of the conservative intelligentsia — is actively plotting to draft an independent presidential candidate who could keep Donald Trump from the White House.

Those involved concede that an independent campaign at this late stage is probably futile, and they think they have only a couple of weeks to launch a credible bid. But these Republicans — including commentators William Kristol and Erick Erickson and strategists Mike Murphy, Stuart Stevens and Rick Wilson — are so repulsed by the prospect of Trump as commander in chief that they are desperate to take action.

That’s exactly what I was thinking - petulant children.

What are those “5 stages of grief”? Denial, anger, bargaining, depresssion, and acceptance. Which stage are these clowns at now, and how long until acceptance?

The Cheap Labor Express has not given up trying to block the citizens from electing a President who would enforce the laws and borders.

CONSERVATIVE...A word so over used it is beginning to make me physically ill,

and this group of Jacka$$’$ need to have the door kick them in the ass.

How long before the WEEKLY STANDARD files for bankruptcy ? Soon I hope.

As for Romney, he is in a state of complete dementia, and his kids need to see he is committed to a far away nursing home..and never be heard from again..

Posters, it is people such as these, that has brought the voters out in mass for DONALD J. TRUMP and he will cream both sides of the professional political parties. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH...WATCH US ROAR IN NOVEMBER...

“Mitt Romney needs to be shown the door...”

Mitt was shown the door in 2012, but he refuses to leave. He needs a good swift kick to get him to exit.

“Trump, Cruz, Carson...are all unacceptably anti-establishment”

One of those three is not like the others.

This is a symptom of the complete inability for the GOPe to spend one microsecond in introspection to check out WHY Trump is so popular. Trump “broadened the tent” much to the chagrin of pseudo-neo-conservatives who can’t see the advantage to sweep in folks (the great unwashed who are right-center as opposed to haard right). These people are are sick and tired of the Uni-Party activities of the so-called Congressional Leaders who caved to Barry. Revel in the GOP victories and help re-shape the GOP, not commit political assassination of the elected leader.

They must off themselves. It is a matter of personal honor. But who knows if they have honor? Probably they don’t.

They know exactly why Trump is popular. 65% of the citizens want the laws and borders enforced.
They have been actively working against that for years.
They wanted us to give up our country without a fight.
Until now they have been able to prevent us from having anything but amnesty candidates for President.

These are not Republicans, they are operatives of The Cheap Labor Express.

It’s been quite a year. Last spring I was enthusiastically supporting Cruz, thought we had a shot at nominating a real conservative.
The campaign has been quite revealing. My opinions of Cruz have changed dramatically in the last year.

It will be Republicans themselves who destroy this party.

Some in the Republican leadership have lost their way.

They have no regard for or interest in the citizenry, only in their own careerist opportunities for graft.

Two lost. One won. One was soft spoken. One was issue focused. One was know for personal attacks. The list could go on with many differences.

To the establishment, the similarity that counts is that the establishment does not like them because they threaten the establishment.

What does GOOB stand for?

Just this morning, I thought that would be a great acronym for Gov’t Off Our Backs!
