Remember when we didn’t give the enemy 48 hours to prepare for an attack?

What attack?....

The article says it's only a psyop op....

As long as this action is coordinate with the Syrians and the Russians, I'm OK with it.

There's nothing wrong with Raaqua that 300 B-1b sorties cannot straighten out.

Especially if augmented with Russian air power and SDF ground forces.

Al Qaeda killed 3000 Americans, and the idiot Bush gave them a warning of a few weeks, before we attacked.

This the same Racca that yesterday we were bitching how the Russians wouldn’t cooperate with us wanting to drop food and supplies into?

What’s our strategy? To confuse them to death, bomb them one day, feed them the next?

“What attack?....

It could just be psyops, or saying that it is psyops, could be the the psyops...

The Kurds have moved in close to Raqqa over the last few months, and were in its Eastern suburbs a few weeks ago.

There has been a bunch of negotiation with the SDF (mostly Kurds) over the last few months, where the Kurds want to take Manbij first (preferably link all the way to Afrin), as their price for capturing Arab Raqqa.

The Turks have been dead set against letting the Kurds advance there, so there has been a pause - but forces kept building for a Raqqa assault, and ISIS kept getting pushed back on all sides.

If the reports of forces moving against Raqqa are true (more than just psyop fliers), then they have settled the negotiation. We’ll have to see.

It is unlike Americans to stampede civilians for a feint, but not unlawful.

I would have thought that all the innocent people that could actually leave Raqqa would have done so by now.

Didn’t I recall seeing that a squadron of B52 BUFFs had been sent to the Mid East not too long ago.?

Maybe we won’t carpet bomb, just throw-rug bomb the jihadis.

It isn’t ‘war’ anymore, Patton continues to roll over and throw up in his grave.

Why on earth do we give the enemy notice of an imminent attack?

your question assumes Obama thinks ISIS is the enemy. tracks now after 4 years are aimed at making the democrat candidate look like they’re doing something against terrorism.

When the US military attacks Militias in the US, do you think they will warn us first before attacking?

A standard tactic. In Psyops, the effective bombing campaign might produce 10x the effect if the population is told it is coming in advance. After it is promulgated, one can erode confidence in the enemy chain of command, either by repetitive propaganda bombing, or by making good on the threat, then repeating the action with another warning threat.

After a while, the enemy forces become more reliant on your message, than on the word of their own chain of command.

Then you tell them to gt out or you’ll return and drop the MOAB.

I wonder if the Kurds who are going to be fighting knew we were going to be dropping those leaflets.

I always think of it as “ITHIL” because they sound so gay when they say it.
