The redskins finally realized they are putting everything in a closet and shutting the door and they will simply pass into oblivion.

One of the Roosevelts took an interest in keeping the History of the Indians alive. That's when all the names evolved and their history was revived.

Being a warrior was a Pride thing....just about all the Indians cared about.

So be it.

The only “Indians” offended by the REDSKINS name are those honky Woodstock Indian princesses and honky drugstore Indians like Fauxchahontas Warren.

I don't have a dog in this hunt except to say that if the owner of the Washington Redskins and their fans want to keep the team's name, then so be it. That's their right. Everybody else is sticking their PC noses into business that's not theirs.

But if forced to do so by the courts or the league or heaven help us, by executive fiat from Obama, the team could switch their name to the Washington Redheads and, except for altering the colors some, they would be able to keep the same logo as they have now.
