And that’s it. I have American friends who are Mexican heritage. They’re all rather conservative and dislike illegals. They’re all Democrats. I don’t get it but there it is.

Obama took 97% of the black vote and that definitely helped him win. I don’t think Hillary will come anywhere near that.

...that’s exactly how you start showing why a particular poll is a bunch of nonsense.

This...

POLITICAL IDENTIFICATION When you think about politics, do you think of yourself as a Democrat or a Republican?
Democrat 61%
Republican 23%

...is how you show this specific poll is pure BS!

OR to SPIN that CNN story a DIFFERENT way.....

Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney among Latinos by 44 points in 2012.
But with still 6 months to go before the election, Donald Trump is already a stronger candidate with Latinos (behind Hillary on that demographic by only 39 points).

The best any republican has done with Latinos was 25%.

So.....I don’t see this as bad news.

Trump leads by 40 points among Glock owners.

Our home is represented by Smith & Wesson and Sig Sauer owners. Trump carrying 100% of the vote ...108% if you count the dog!

That is because most Latinos are democrats. If the split was 50/50, it would not be a credible poll since anyone who barely breathes know that Hispanics overwhelmingly self identify as democrats.

The split in the poll seems correct to me.

Why has no one created a thread with new WAPO poll just released showing Trump 46, Clinton 44?

Yuge news. Go to WAPO. They bury the lede. Get a thread up!

It’s not a big issue anyway. There aren’t enough Mexican descendants in Florida or Ohio.

Trump feuding with the corrupt & scumbag CO & AZ GOP’s is a bigger problem; AZ he wins anyway.

Why are you bothering me?

The split in the poll seems correct to me.

Of course it does. You've predicated that based upon your previous statement...Hispanics overwhelmingly self identify as democrats.

Do you believe this poll means anything?

And another thing...

If, as you say, "Hispanics overwhelmingly self identify as democrats" then why was this poll even conducted?

What was the point in pointing out what everybody already knew?

Polling 101: Weighting the Sample
Weighting can also be a handy way for news outlets to craft or fashion their own stories as well. Weighting with the intention of achieving particular results is an often charged but never provable offense, and it certainly makes dissecting polls on blogs fun and interesting. It is a low risk/high reward activity if networks or other pollsters were to engage in it, however: 99% of people out there will only ever hear or pay attention to the topline results and never dig deeper to find out more… in fact, it would be my guess that an overwhelming majority have absolutely no idea what weighting or Party ID splits even are when it comes to the polls they are digesting.

Fox News Latino?!

No doubt Trump will be worst performing Republican with the latino vote. I think 23% is about as good as he can get. But the Democrats problem is he can more than make up for it with a voter voter base that has be been highly supressed in recent elections....white males. The white male vote was very low in 2008 and 2012. Those votes will be out big time in 2016. Take that with around 15% of the black vote Trump will more than make up for the backlash from latino voters.

There is also the fact that most women prefer alpha males over half lesbians where the rubber meets the road. (no pun intended)

Some Latinos with U.S. citizenship don’t like the competition from illegals. But many Latinos want to bring granny in from Ecuador so she can get on the free health care gravy train here in America. Relatives are endlessly illegal.
