New York City is about to become a lot more disgusting

Scofflaws of New York, rejoice — the City Council has cleared the way for you to litter, loiter and pee in the street to your heart’s content.

New legislation dubbed the “Criminal Justice Reform Act” was passed by lawmakers Wednesday, giving miscreants a get-out-of-jail-free card by eliminating the criminal penalties on a raft of quality-of-life crimes.

The disgusting and disturbing acts that the council voted to decriminalize include drinking alcohol out of a paper bag, lurking in parks after hours, urinating in the street and making enough of a racket to violate the noise code.

Under the legislation, which Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to sign, offenders will face only civil summonses instead of criminal citations.

One of the first things that Giuliani did to clean up New York was enforce the laws against public urination and defecation. I guess New Yorkers forgot what an impact that had on improving the city. Everything old is new again!

Don’t care. NYC voted for a Communist. They can live with the consequences of their gross stupidity.

SF has devolved to where much of the city has the stench of urine wafting through the air. SF has tried to be so liberal with their big number of homeless, that they discovered other issues resulted from their liberal handling of homeless. NYC may find the same thing happens there.

“Councilman Ritchie Torres (D-Bronx), who voted in favor of the bills, urged “hysterical” critics to reconsider how criminal records picked up over minor offenses could hobble young minorities’ “access to financial aid and higher education.””

So he’s accusing young minorities of being the culprits.

He’s a racist.

“...reconsider how criminal records picked up over minor offenses could hobble young minorities’ “access to financial aid and higher education.”””

Sounds to me like more of the left’s “the soft bigotry of low expectations.”

So essentially what Councilman Ritchie Torres (D-Bronx) is saying is, “It’s too hard to expect “young minorities” to live respectfully in a civil society so we must lower the standards to meet their ability to live in a civil society.”

Sad!

California led the way with decriminalizing petty theft (up to 950 $)so NYC couldn’t not do something similar.
