Trump's Decision To Debate Sanders In California Is His Most Genius Move Yet
Zerohedge ^ | May 27, 2016 | Tyler Durden

If the Trump/Sanders debate proceeds as planned in California, you’re about to witness one of the most important moments of a 2016 general election that hasn’t even begun yet. To say such a debate would be an unmitigated disaster for Hillary Clinton would be the understatement of the century. Let’s explore why.

First of all, Hillary Clinton outright rejected a debate request from Bernie Sanders ahead of the June 7th California primary. Given Sanders’ recent momentum, as well as her need to persuade a significant number of his supporters to back her in November; such a denial was not only arrogant, it was highly insulting to voters in America’s largest state. From team Clinton’s perspective there was little upside to agreeing to a debate, versus easily manageable downside from a few days of negative media coverage.

Or so they thought…

A Trump / Sanders debate would de-facto eliminate the bitch from public life forever and the criminal proceedings would commence immediately

"Only Trump can beat himself."

And how long have the chattering classes been saying that? Not going to happen my friend. He is way too smart for that, plus he has been totally inoculated. His life is an open book and has been for years. They've got nothing new to throw at him.

“We are witnessing a phenomena.”

Extremely well put! I was telling the wife the other day how the pundits on TV keep getting it wrong. I told her they are using knowledge they have garnered over numerous past elections and applying it to this one. That is why they appear as idiots. They are fighting the LAST (past) war.

Things have CHANGED! Trump is here! A NON politician who is a political genus or as the author said a genus period.

Trump’s opening statement should be how rigged the system is towards Bernie and he deserves to be heard.

“I firmly believe his “gaffes” are planned and executed at the right time...”

Sometimes, yes, but suggesting Megyn Kelly might be on her period was a YUGE gaff. There are others. I’ll agree up to 50%.

He never said anything about her period. That’s a BS left wing/RINO media talking point meant to force people’s assumptions.

"Trump isn’t playing by the establishment’s rules, and the establishment doesn’t know what to do about it."

Perfect evidence is Hillary's "loose cannon" talking point about Trump. "Do we want an unqualified, loose cannon in the White House?" She thinks that buys her traction, but in reality, America is screaming "Yes! Because we don't agree with your definition of 'unqualified', and we need someone to take on the Establishment."

Attacking Trump? Bernie has to beat Hillary first! There will be some of that, but I think it will be a trash Hillary bash fest.

This could backfire on Trump

Lighten up. There's no downside to this for either Trump or Sanders. They're both having fun as they tear down the rigged system.

Personally, I’ve never been a big Trump fan; even before he threw his hat in the ring. I’ve used a lot of adjectives, many negative, to describe him. “Dumb” was never one of them. The man has one of the most brilliant business minds of our times. He does understand human nature, and has an uncanny knack of knowing very quickly what trips peoples triggers. He’s used those qualities, with devastating effect, against is opponents this election cycle and to rally support from a broad spectrum for what up to this point has been a very enigmatic(nebulous?) political platform.

Very astute, but you knew that.

Quite! This is the period of the genus Trump, a new creature from a new family, born in the crucible of American hegemony.

After reading some of the ZH comments, it seems like the Trump-Bern meme is beginning to float around.

From a gambling perspective, it makes perfect sense: a 100% guaranteed 50 state sweep with no downside risk to the respective candidates.

Now, Trump may very well win in a dominant fashion anyway, but who can resist toying with or walking away from those kinds of odds? Bernie would be even more inclined & amenable to the suggestion, since he has 0% chance from the DNC.

The only risk to Trump supporters is if he doesn't make it 4-8 years. Likewise, the only risk to Bernie supporters is Trump does make it 4-8 years.

Now, compare those respective risks with what could actually be accomplished: nothing less than a bloodless revolution. Thousands upon thousands of "nobles" heading to the justice, with a complete restoration of the basic principles of law, etc, etc, etc.

His powerful intelligence doesn’t surprise me at all. NYC is the world’s most vicious, cutthroat real estate market. He made ten billion dollars in that market. Anybody who can swim with those sharks and eat them has to be brilliant and have massive political and debating skills. Indeed, that’s why I decided to support him.
