“If you control the ability of the population to travel then you can control the population. The TSA will probably advocate for internal passports and travel permits so if a citizen is out of their “zone of regular travel” they will be able to track “legitimate” travel vs “suspicious” travel for your safety”,

You think that’s not in the cards? Go watch the Hunger Games for a peak of what’s planned. Might take a while for the hunting of humans to take place but all the other factors are already being formulated e.g. rural cleansing, Wildlands Project, High Speed Rail, Country divided into Regions, War on fossil fuel, Stack and pack housing, urban growth boundaries and to make the population more compliant-firearm confiscation.

“Why the long lines now?”

Very good question. News say there there are more people flying. That is the only thing I can think of. I’d actually like to see the monthly data for the number of travelers over the past year.

In a new statement, the TSA placed blame on passengers, claiming that individuals are at fault ...

The difference between a government agency and a private business.

About a year ago, I purchased a carry-on from L.L.Bean. It arrived right on time, but I noticed the zipper on the luggage was balky. I called up L.L.Bean, and I don't think the phone even rang once before an operator picked up. I explained the situation and they offered to ship out a replacement immediately. The operator said a free return label would be included so I could send them back the defective item. The whole transaction took about 2 minutes. Now that's how you run a business.

What a bunch of complete moron government “workers”. Have you ever noticed how many of them have misshapen heads and “crazy” eyes? I bet almost all of them just love the government...and are LIBs.

Private aviation is the the way to go....

There is no such thing as public aviation. All airlines are privately owned.

Airports should be privately owned. They can rent / lease / sell space to those privately owned airlines.

Giving government thugs power over travel was a huge mistake. Tell the jack boots they are not allowed within their property, unless they are traveling as paying passengers.

Several months ago, my son and I went fishing down in Galveston. We crossed over to Bolivar peninsula on the ferry. No problem.

Well, about 2am, we left our fishing spot and traveled back to the ferry landing there in Bolivar to cross back over to Galveston Island.

Lo and behold, as we approached the ferry landing to queue up in line for the boat, I see folks standing outside their automobiles with hoods and trunks opened. Then I noticed to guyz in uniform way up at the front of the line searching vehicles. Folks were standing outside with towels and shirts over their heads and slinging them around as the marsh mosquitoes were particularly bad that night.

So, my son and I were sitting there and eventually these two jackasses approach our truck. They asked us to step out of the vehicle and raise our hood.

I rolled the window down about two inches and said...NO! I'm not standing out in the mosquitoes...thank ya very much. He then asked me to pop my hood. So, I did. They looked under the hood, closed it down and moved on.

Those SOB’s were making people stand outside their cars and in reality had no probable cause what-so-ever. Folks were obeying their commands. We didn't and they didn't do jack-diddly squat which tells me their commands were not mandatory, they were voluntary. Problem is, folks lined up in the ferry landing went along without questioning these two guys....oh, by the way, they were TSA...at a ferry landing.

Strip searching granny while letting middle easterners through for political correctness? These TSA people are idiots. Slowing down lines for more union jobs.

Well, not everybody flies frequently, and some people just don’t know what to expect at the airport.

Even if you fly all the time you don't know what to expect in the TSA screening. Procedures vary from airport to airport, and really you need to follow the directions of various TSA agents trying to tell you what to do. Now varying procedures are actually a good idea for any security system, but blaming passengers for not knowing what to do is ridiculous.

Sometimes even the TSA can't figure out what they want you to do. I've had one guy tell me to leave my notebook PC in my briefcase and the next guy tell me to take it out.

Oh, I don’t doubt that they’re intentionally slowing down lines but there are a lot of clueless travelers. As much as I hate Logan Airport, their TSA agents are pretty much ok.

That’s quite a statement. Nobody strip searched granny nor gave ME people a pass. Keep in mind, it’s not granny, but granny’s grandson could be an SOB. People prey on elderly and children. There used kids diapers to smuggle things. Granny’s cane or jacket pocket. The thing is that there is a broader picture than meets the eye. I don’t think anyone views granny as a security threat. I saw an 65-70 ish old man in an airport screening once. He had a cane. The line got held up while the TSA stopped and got supervisors. but there was a big ol sword inside the cane. Like a full length sword the length of the cane. Anyway, that just came to mind. I had forgotten till you mention granny.

Public nudity is the answer.

Close to it speeds up screening. One day as I was pushing my luggage into the xray machine the woman behind me removed her top, apparently to avoid screening issues. She had her bra on, but it certainly caused the TSA to move her through quickly. They decided the metal detector would be fine, no need for the full body scanner.

She was clearly a frequent traveler, and just wanted to move through more quickly. It worked.

Many of them look like inner city thug vunnables. They slap an over sized uniform...sometimes an extremely undersized uniform on them and there ya go. Instant harassment.

Pisses me off. Can't believe we allow the gubbamint to do this to us.

She was a weirdo. A frequent traveler would have had more sense. She sounds like someone trying to make a statement probably had someone videotaping it and then claimed how she had no choice as to avoid the scanner. Oh the drama!

“Get an E-cig for travel”

Good advice for most but I’m a strange bird. I don’t think purposely putting moisture into my lungs is very smart. Also, I don’t want to blow up my face.

Well, again I would say that not everybody flies a lot, and not everybody knows about water bottles and other arbitrary regulations.

Let’s blame the Wright brothers. They invented the airplane and hence long lines. Also, they were white and must be guilty of using their white privilege to slow minorities down. /s
