Support for Britain to stay in the European Union stood at 51 percent, five points ahead of support for a withdrawal from the 28-member bloc but down from a 13-point lead a week ago, an ORB poll for the Daily Telegraph said.
Support to leave the EU grew by 4 points to 46 percent according to the poll published on Monday for Tuesday's edition of the newspaper.
Britons vote on June 23 on whether to remain in the EU, with important implications for its trade, economic and political status.
Writing in the newspaper Lynton Crosby, the political strategist behind Prime Minister David Cameron's election victory, said the campaign focus on migration over the past seven days had boosted the Leave campaign.
"Increasing focus on lack of control over immigration" had helped to boost support for the "Leave" campaign, he said.

After June the 23rd and we vote to exit the EU, the population will breathe a sigh of relief that it's all over and leave it to the politicians to get on with it; after all isn't that what we pay them for.?. This is where Cameron and Osborne are correct. All parties agree that it will take at least two years of negotiations during which time the uncertainty will cause the predicted depression in the economy. This will reverse most of the opinions of the leave group who will change their mind and agree to stay in.
During which time Parliament will vote through the bill which is waiting in the wings, having already been debated and just waiting to be signed into law.
I hate to put it this way and pray it doesn’t happen, but the Brits are one terrorist incident away from an exit vote. And from everything I’ve read, that government is not ready to handle an exit vote.
If you don’t get out before they’ve got an army you won’t get out.
It won’t matter what the result of the vote is. Whenever childish populations vote to stay out of the EU, or vote to leave it, the result is gently set aside and a new vote is scheduled. Repeat until the result is correct.

I'm torn, as my wife is from Poland and the ease of travelling within the EU to see family and the fact I'd like my son to study there when he's older (no stupid-level University fees like here) makes it a rather attractive proposition to stay. I'll make my mind up closer to the day.
I spent a week in England in late April and asked a number of people how they thought the vote would go - to the person, they supported Brexit.
I would think the leaders of Britain probably care less about their citizens than our own leaders. I don’t think Britain’s going anywhere, unless we now have even less liberty than the Brits.
