A 24-year-old middle school teacher accused of having a months-long affair with a 13-year-old student — who got her pregnant — turned herself in Wednesday afternoon.
Alexandria Vera was booked on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child and released on $100,000 bail — a day after Houston police issued a warrant for the raven-haired English teacher’s arrest.
She met — and fell in love with — the boy last summer at Stovall Middle School in Houston, according to court documents obtained by ABC

Would you feel the same way if it was a man who raped the 13 year old boy? By your logic, the teen boy wouldnt have his youth stolen.

Natural? Child pedophilia has been around a long time. Civilized societies frown upon it. Muslim countries still practice and encourage it.
I’d say it depends on the boy. Is a modern 13-yr old boy ready to be a father? Hell no. Was he a victim? Legally, yes. Is it anywhere near the same league as the homosexual rape you described? Absolutely not.
College is a bit late to start teaching right from wrong. These days, they start teaching grade school kids there’s no difference. This teacher is a perfect specimen of our liberal education system.
No I would not feel the same, if a man was having sex with a 13-year-old boy or girl then that to me is a much worse crime, but luckily for society the law isn’t based on my opinions, the law is blind and the woman is punished the same way as a man is and that is rightly so.
However, my point remains that a 13-year-old boy having sex with a very attractive young woman is going to experience little or no “trauma”. He is most probably having the time of his life and will look back on it in misty-eyed old age with very fond memories indeed.
That would likely not be the case with a 13-year-old girl or boy who is having sex with a much older man. That’s the way the world is, I do not live in a socially engineered world where the law decrees how one should feel.
I don’t subscribe to the opinion that if the law insists a man who has decided to become a woman is indeed a woman, that I must think so too. Being the law-abiding type I will go along with this legal fiction, just don’t ask me to believe it.
Likewise if the law says an attractive young woman who has sex with a compliant teenage boy is “raping” that boy, with all the horrific attributes of such an offence if it was a man who was the older sexual partner, I will abide by the law.
Just don’t expect me to believe it.
How does a 24 year old beauty like this find a 13 year old boy sexually attractive? Yes I was 13 once and remember what it was like, but let’s face it - this girl would give any man a testosterone surge. 13 year old boys still think farts are funny - what’s sexy about that? Or did she need someone to play Pokémon with? Sounds like a case of arrested mental development.
I applaud those who don’t succumb to feelings and can keep a clear view of the facts.
I’m glad none of those commenting about her looks are judges as a profession, they’d be as “good” as our wise latina on USSC and others who make decisions based on feelings, not facts.
When I was in the 7th grade...Miss D. told me to stay after class....the room was part of an annex. I was supposed to ride the bus home.
So how young is this teacher allowed to go with boys, in your opinion? Since there is no trauma, as you put it, certainly 10 or 11 should be acceptable to you.

That would have been understood as common sense at one time. When we see attitudes that once were the property of feminist crackpots being touted among the general public it makes me marvel.
Would a thirteen year old girl be traumatized? When I was thirteen I was still into things like Pokemon. This teacher surely used grooming behavior like any other predator and this boy will taken on the same behaviors as an adult.
She was. About 5’2’. A very pretty brunette and well dressed. When she walked back to her table everyone she was with was obviously in their mid 30s. By herself, you would have thought that she was very close to 21.
That same bar once hosted a club of very tall couples. I mean reallly tall. They were also dressed in evening wear. They looked like royalty, it was both amusing and impressive.
I had an absolutely beautiful high school English teacher as a high school sophomore. Must have been just out of college. I’m not sure what happened but she was gone after only a month. I probably wouldn’t have heard a word she said if she remained in charge of that class.
