Gingrich: Trump's attacks on judge 'unacceptable'
The Hill ^ | June 4, 2016 | Evelyn Rupert

Posted on 06/04/2016 7:30:13 PM PDT by maggief

Donald Trump supporter and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich isn't on board with Trump's attacks on a federal judge.

“I don’t know what Trump’s reasoning was, and I don’t care,” Gingrich said in an email to the Washington Post. “His description of the judge in terms of his parentage is completely unacceptable.”

Trump has continually bashed U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing lawsuits over Trump's real estate education program Trump University. Trump claims that because Curiel is of Mexican descent, he is inherently biased against him and should recuse himself. Curiel was born in Indiana to immigrant parents.

.. I don’t know what Trump’s reasoning was, and I don’t care ..

That personal pronoun abuse again. Bullet dodged.

Actually, I suspect Newt got the news last week that he was out of the running for vp. Since then he has criticized Trump for a number of statements he’s made. Too bad Newt.

Gingrich airing criticisms like this in such a highly public manner tends to discredit the notion that he’s found his way into the Trump inner circle. I suspect Trump is actually open to critique and does correct course on that basis, but taking it public right off the bat isn’t going to go over well at all.

Both judges and the press have been above the law for a long time in this country. Nice to see a candidate who treats them like the pigs they are.

I agree. Criticizing in private is loyal; criticizing in public is not. Trump is huge on loyalty.

Newt runs hot and cold. He has often cited Pres. Jefferson’s vacating of a certain Federal Court because the judges misbehaved.

A while back he indicated that GWB should have done that to the 9th Circus when they gave assinine rulings such as removing “under God” from the Pledge, etc.

And now he flips and criticizes Trump. Same old Newt. Hot & cold.

While I agree with Mr. Gingrich in principle, as FReeper Parley Baer has pointed out, Judge Gonzalo Curiel was appointed by Obama. And Trump didn’t build his empire by not calling people out.

The Liberals on Fakebook are having a field day because Trump said the Judge was a Mexican.

I had to point out to one of the Morons that he is a Member of La Raza, the Mexican KKK. Haven’t heard back yet. LOL

Newt should pile on. Newt told the base to go to hell on amnesty and heartlessness.

Trump needs a generic dude with no baggage.

Trump is not buying the hispanic unicorn vote, that Newt does.

Divorced Newt & nancy boy Graham are going to tell the bitter clingers what Hispanic family values are all about.

Hispanic single motherhood is X%.
Hispanic marriage rates are X%.

Then Newt and others idiots will try to tell Trump to chase 90% of the Hispanic vote and still lose.
