I was just a kid, but I kind of liked Sonny Liston. I remember an article in the old Sport magazine - written by Rocky Marciano, I think - defending Liston as being good for boxing, but I don't remember his specific point. Liston had that "baaaad" image back in the days when boxing was a much bigger deal than it is now.

If I remember correctly, he later overdosed on heroin, but I might be confusing him with NFLer Gene "Big Daddy" Lipscomb.

He and his father’s namesake was an abolitionist Senator, and he changes his name to the name of one of histories greatest slavers.

Your post brings to mind one of my favorite songs of my youth; “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath. I still remember the words...

I always look for those who claim to have been military to see if they were National Guard during Vietnam. It was a good way to escape Vietnam while still piously saying you were military.

Actually, what is ironic is blacks being encouraged to make assumptions about the character of other people based upon skin-color.

In the cases of recent violent incidents between people who happened to be of different ethnicity, they were fraudulently racialized by self-appointed black leaders, the media, politicians — as well as fashionably self-loathing whites.

They even got to the point in which black preachers were calling for lynchings based upon skin-color rather than evidence — and completely missing the absurd irony in that as well.

Currently we have a holocaust of racially motivated, black-on-white attacks that are in no small part due to the flames being fanned by those who profit politically and economically from sawing racial discord.

Hence, it is more than arguable that a race-war is already in progress. But it will not be designated as such — and there will be no calls for an end to the violence until the targets start fighting back.

If that does happen, under Obamanation will deploy armed government forces against only one side in the conflict — which side that might be is for you to guess.
