Democrats mount gun control filibuster

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) launched a talking filibuster on the Senate floor — which was quickly joined by fellow Democrats — in an effort to pressure Republicans to accept legislation that would deny suspected terrorists from purchasing firearms and require universal background checks.

The Senate is debating a spending bill that Democrats hope to offer gun amendments to, but Murphy said that the Senate should “not proceed with debate on amendments to this bill until we have figured out a way to come together on, at the very least, two simple ideas.”

“I’m going to remain on this floor until we get some signal, some sign that we can come together on these two measures, that we can get a path forward on addressing this epidemic in a meaningful, bipartisan way,” Murphy continued on the Senate floor on Wednesday, after he first started his filibuster at about 11:20 a.m.

Shut up Demos, you and all of Congress should be voting to severely limit _pieceful_ immigration. Continue to play games with USAians lives and I will pray that those pieceful types visit you and yours, and not USAians begging for your proper attention to these dire matters.

A filibuster ties up the Senate so they can’t vote on bills.
That’s a good thing..........................

universal background checks???

Always a bogus claim. You know and I know they already exist.

The so-called "gun show loophole" is also a bogus claim.

They want you and I disarmed.

Eff 'em.

>>Just what is a “universal background check” supposed to be?

It makes private sales illegal unless you go to an FFL, pay a fee set by him, and then transfer the gun through the dealer with a background check.

That is already the law in Colorado, one of Bloomburg’s gun grab states.

They are in full spin mode on this one. It’s like Hitler ordering imaginary divisions around Europe from his bunker while the Soviets were a few hundred yards away from him.

Somebody should get word to Donald to start quoting the poem engraved on the Statue of Liberty: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,..."

The masses of people being allowed into our country, whether in accordance with law or illegally, absolutely despise the freedoms symbolized by the Statue of Liberty.

...universal background checks???

Don’t gun purchaser have to go though a background check now? Just what is a “universal background check” supposed to be?...

These are meaningless to the savage pig Muslim terrorists. They can get them from friends, friends of friends, and fellow jihadis.
The laws and bans affect inly you and me.

Feds can “detain” suspected US “terrorists” without due process...indefinitely.

It stands to reason that a person can be put on a No-Fly list using the same lack of law.

Ergo, if (when) this “No-fly, No-gun” passes it is defacto gun confiscation

Everyone falsely thinks that they would come out and say “turn in your guns” or go door to door. Why would they want that show? This way there is no news, no video to see, no troops in the street.... Just a single cop (or 2) coming to your door very polite like..

Be careful what you wish for.

A Gun control platform has always been a losing proposition.

And now after the 2nd most deadly islamic terrorist attack on American soil, WITH A GUN, they're trying to persuade Americans to give their arms up?

Making private sales, gifts and inheritence of firearms into a felony.

It means that every gun transfer would have to be handled by a Federal Firerams Licensee and the government would end up with a registry of all guns. This is presently the law in the People's Republik of Kalifornia.

Of course, it only applies to the law-abiding, making it a worse than worthless infringement of the Second Amendment.
