That sounds like selectively edited words put in her mouth by the “journalist.”

For instance she could’ve said “Well, if he had any gay tendencies, he did a good job of hiding it. I never saw any evidence of that” and it was changed to “he maybe had gay tendencies.” Easy peasy.

I believe it serves them on many levels. Framing it this way they can now play the victim card. Poor closet homosexual, due to societal shaming, finally snaps. Its not his fault you see, he snapped because society would not let him be who he wanted to be.

Then they get to pivot to the gun card. You see since society is so mean, poor little victims are bound to snap (not their fault), and our society allows guns so freely that the only rational thing to do it to outlaw guns.
