'It's an insult': Disbelief of William Petit who was forced to listen to wife being raped and killed

The Connecticut man who lost his wife and daughters in a brutal home invasion in 2007 said Wednesday it was 'sad' one of the killers had his death sentence revoked to comply with new state laws.

Dr. William Petit was tied up in the basement of his New Haven home during the July 23, 2007 attack and almost beaten to death. He could only listen as his wife was raped and murdered by Steven Hayes. Petit managed to flee to a neighbor's home as his daughters perished in the fire Hayes lit.

'It is a very sad day when a prolonged trial and decision and sentencing by a jury that took 4.5 months to seat is overturned by a legislature that ignores the wishes of the people of CT,' he said in a text message via Twitter on Wednesday.

California did the same thing way back when, which is why Charlie and the other Manson Family murderers who haven’t died in prison are still with us.

This opinion is a triumph for evil, a victory for all that is the worst within the Liberal dominated system.
Our system is failing to protect the weakest against violence from the Fascists and the bullys and their Democrat supporters.

Dr Petit should be shown to a room , wherein both perps lie , naked and hog-tied . There provided with a tray of surgical tools and a bottle of sulfuric acid and eye dropper .

an eye for an eye - like kind for like kind

Were I this poor gentleman, and were either of these two utterly evil scumbags ever to see the light of day, I would make it the focus of my entire life to make sure that they died prematurely, slowly and incredibly painfully.

Hell has a special place for people like those in the CT legislature that voted for this.

I don’t think his campaign has a website yet. I suspect this is a half-hearted effort because that Plainville-New Britain district has been in the hands of the ‘crats for decades. If he seriously wanted to get involved, Dr. Petit probably would have run for Congress from the 5th district against Espy. She might have been vulnerable, and that district is largely suburban and rural, with a fair number of (R)-controlled towns. The 5th was represented for years by Nancy Johnson, until the dems took the seat probably 10 yrs ago now.
Bill Petit is a good man. When he was still practicing endocrinology, his patients loved him. He was about the best around. I remember his inner office at the Joslin Clinic in Plainville. Above the inside door frame, there was a framed 8 x 10” photo of him shaking hands with President Regan, Geo.H.W.Bush looking on. I never asked him about it, but from the background it looked like it was taken in the White House.

This is horrible! But 6 life terms pretty much ensure that he’ll never see the light of day.

I don't know what to say to defend them...

its like the libtards run entire states eg Minnesota but its hard to fathom that there are no decent people fighting them...

the Catholic bishops that spend so much time about the death penalty, which is not used very often anyway are just looking for "their" issue that makes them popular with the rich libtards...

I am a Catholic from cradle to grave but I feel like I have no church..

Indeed, this is one of the most awful things I’ve ever heard. Most men would become shells of a person after such horror.

The perps should be drawn and quartered.

I wish the Dr. luck in his race for the State House. Does he have a chance, Pete? He’s running against 22 year incumbent rat Betty Boukus, who voted to repeal the death penalty because she thinks monsters who rape and murder deserve to keep breathing. She won reelection in 2014 by 13.5%, by far her closest race since at least 1998.

that district is gerrymandered to protect Boukus ... it would be a bit of a stunner if she lost. GOP is good for 45% in a good year, which is usually mid-term.

Public housing projects in the district turn out in Presidential years.
