No More Orlandos

The next President of the United States must consider acting on the basis of what activists in Northern Ireland used to call “the politics of the last atrocity.” The CIA Director John Brennan on June 16, 2016 provided official confirmation that despite the military and financial activity directed against terrorists in recent years, the efforts of the United States have not reduced the capability and global reach of ISIS. Brennan warned the country of the dangerous terror threat posed by ISIS and the large cadre of Western fighters on which it can draw.

Brennan did not use the words “Radical Islamic Terrorism,” words permanently absent from the White House vocabulary. He did not need to do so. As a result of the massacres in Orlando, Florida and in Paris, the U.S. and European countries realize from bitter experience of the existence of that global reach and that ISIS and those influenced by it, and al-Qaeda and others are preparing more attacks on the West.

These attacks may result from homegrown jihadists or from those infiltrating as supposed refugees and migrants into western societies. The massacre in Orlando is the latest example that the terrorist organizations, ISIS and others, have scored a sensational success in training and deploying operatives to carry out attacks. Though not all evidence is in, Omar Mateen, the callous murderer of 49 people, apparently had no direct links to ISIS but claimed allegiance to it and to its leader

Regretfully this type of terrorism is impossible to stop.

Gun free zones make them even harder to contain....

Terrorism is a tactic and can’t ever be stopped completely, but it can certainly be reduced significantly by banning Islam in civilized countries. ISIS is not the threat; Islam is the threat. Close mosques, deport all Muslims, bring US troops home and put them on our borders, and institute a “pet the pig” requirement to board a plane or enter a western nation. Problem largely solved.

For extra security, tell the Muslim world that the next act of terror in any western nation will result in Mecca being nuked and covered in pig’s blood afterwards.

If the Shia and Sunni want to fight each other, let them do it in their own crappy countries.

Fighting for any Muslim (supposedly our allies) is not in the interests of the US. There are no good guys there.

As long as Obama and his democrat toadies insist on blaming these Muslim terrorist attacks on the NRA, the Bill of Rights and the American people, the attacks and the killing will continue.

Here’s what I don’t understand. Every so often, the govt (IRS?) sends folks into the churches to make sure they are not teaching politics, and threatens them with losing their 501c3 status. Conservative churches only are threatened of course. But the imams can spew their political stuff and international political sewage can emanate from them, and it’s ‘none of our business.’???

That probably is true.

HST, if every Real American were armed when “out and about,” the number of successful “Orlandos, Bostons, etc. etc.” would reduce rather quickly, wouldn’t you say?

So, take your gun with you wherever you go!

I agree if more carried it would be a better deterrent. However, if that happened the terrorists will shift their tactics. I think we'd see more IEDs, pipe bombs, etc.

I hope that day never happens.

ISIS is not the threat; Islam is the threat.

I wish more people would say that.

Muslims don't need al Qaeda or ISIS or any group or people to encourage them to Jihad.

If are a Muslim and die fighting us Kafirs you go directly to heaven with Allah- so sayeth Muhammad.
You don't need any more motivation than that, if you believe in Allah, and the examples set by Muhammad. - Tom

“No More Orlandos”

Confiscate all guns from every household in America and we will be safe.

Translation: Confiscate all guns from every household in America and the Revolution will be safe.

IMHO

49 unarmed Americans killed. 50 more wounded.

Not merely 'unarmed'. They were forcibly disarmed by Florida government edict.

We have designated drivers. We need designated defenders.
