Appearing on the Today show, Monday, to promote her new shark movie, actress Blake Lively implied that the reason her character is in peril is global warming. Talking to Savannah Guthrie about The Shallows, she asserted, “Because of global warming, sharks are pushed closer to shore. And she's attacked and you think of a shark attack being in the deep ocean, but it’s almost scarier when shore is right there.”

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Well, set the scene for us a little bit. We kind of did. Nancy is your character. She's brave. She's a medical student. So, we know she's resourceful.

Well, savannah guthrie.....dumbass. "She's a med student so we know she's resourceful" Uh, what? Srsly. That's almost as stupid as the dumbass that asked "What was that alligator thinking when he attacked the little boy at Disney". And, sadly, a large portion of the public gets their "news" from these assclowns. I saw a clip last night on the aforementioned movie and saw it coming within the first 15 seconds. I'm rootin' for the sharks.

Sharks go where the food is and breed where the food won’t eat their offspring, which makes them smarter than most actresses and liberals.

Well I wont be seeing this movie because the theater is 35 mile round trip and I wouldn't want to leave a carbon footprint so I don't change the climate.

The result of twenty-four hour news shows designed to "inform and entertain" is that you get fading Hollywood bimbos coming on speaking to half wit, so-called "journalists" as if they were subject matter experts. Unfortunately, this appeals to a certain [growing] segment of the population that are not too bright.

Back in the fifties and sixties in Southern California it was not unusual for sharks to swim inside the surf-line.

As a matter of fact, we made a sport grabbing the baby ones by the tail and flinging them onto the beach.

Sometimes we’d even put them back in the water after a while.

That’s pretty much the plot to all three of the Sharknado movies.

There has been a dramatic increase in the shark activity in Lake Tahoe this summer. Which started yesterday. :)

Common in FL for them to be inside the surf line. For the 24 years we were there. A little un-nerving when you’re on a boogey board. More if you’re body surfing and see you’re riding the same one with a couple of sharks.

They only want to do 2 things. Eat and procreate. That’s about it. They don’t normally want to design new pick up trucks or anything.

Shark attacks occur because people are swimming in shark infested waters. It’s what sharks do. Food is food...

Great Whites are always close to shore except when on breeding migration.
Oh and they are hardly ever in warm water.

What a moron. The water is naturally warmer in shallow waters. If sharks didn’t like warm water they would stay away from shore lines.

Yeah - because there are so many people in the “deep ocean” - those are the ones who have to be careful...

Sand sharks are common in Florida from Tarpon Springs to Naples. They feed, expel waste and spawn within the sand bar close to shore. Been doing that since the ‘50s (that I know of). They don’t normally attack humans, unless provoked.
