Was the dude who killed a bunch of unarmed Marines in Chatanooga on the No Fly list? The couple in San Bernadino?
Perhaps the gun seller should be the decision maker, at least with the first version of the law, with a right of appeal by the attorney general along with a payment by the attorney general of a $10,000 court filing fee.
It is too easy to add a name to a list. It would invite abuse by the government.
Also, perhaps an added essential criterion should be repeated access to terrorist website pages.
I read he wasn’t and then read that he is, don’t know what to believe.
She talks like a nursery school teacher. But makes less sense.
How twisted is this?
We are attacked AGAIN.
And
Logic is to go after guns?
No gonna be war. No way.
We will not comply in NY. My husband is SO Patriotic it ruins him to break any law in anyway. I find this SO refreshing......
Make sure you are well armed it is going to get very ugly.
I’m ok with this proposal as long as the Cincinatti IRS office manages the no-fly list. What could go wrong?
Another possibility is to simply inform the gun seller of the information the government would use in court, say:
12/11/2015 potential buyer visited site of suspected terrorist organization al-Bagdadhi...
12/27/2015 ....
1/16/2016 potential buyer flew to Saudi Arabia
2/13/2016 potential buyer returned to the United States
Would you sell that person a gun?
[No]
These idiots need to learn that bipartisan is a rope with a noose at both ends so you get to hang the Judas’s/Quislings two at a time with the same length of rope a sort of two for one deal.
One of my sons told me yesterday if he uses his first name middle initial and last name he comes up on the no fly list.
He has been taken out of line by the TSA and interrogated because someone else with the same name and middle initial is on the no-fly list.
He was advised while flying not to use his middle initial but to spell out his middle name, and since doing that he has no problem.
I am sure the culprits can get around the list and many innocent people are going to get fouled up and miss flights because of things like what happened to my son.-Tom
The favorite weapon of the jihadists overseas is the roadside bomb.
Bombs are easier to make than guns or ammo.
Even the Israelis can’t stop the Palestinians from making rockets - and you can be sure the Israelis try hard and aren’t hindered by their legal system.
Are they also going to suspend all of the other constitutional rights these people have who somehow get put on this list, with no process to get off it? If not, why not?
The Terrorists will just get their democrat friends to buy all the guns and explosives they need
So in other words, your rights can be suspended without due process and ONLY when you are denied the right to purchase a firearm, THEN you can appeal it.
I guess it’s too damned bad if you need a gun tonight because some unhinged lunatic has been making threats against you or someone you love.
Folks;
I just read this story during my break today and my blood is boiling.
I immediately called Kelly Ayotte’s office in DC (being a NH resident) and told them to tell Ayotte to pull her support for this bill and stop this nonsense using the “No Fly List” to deny people their Constitutional rights.
I told the guy that it appears that Mrs. Ayotte does not understand the concept of Due Process even thought she use to be the NH State Attorney General before Senator.
I explained that Lynch (with this power) could put all NRA, GOA, Tea Party people on the list since the US Attorney General position is now just a political “hack” position for the President.
What good is it if i have the ability to fight this in court (which could take years) and have my firearms confiscated from me and then HOPE to be reimbursed for attorney fees (that i could not afford) just to fight off political oppression.
Good God what the hell is happening in the Senate. I thought the Senate was to be for “cooler heads” to mull over important legislation put forth by what was deemed the “hot heads” in the House.
CALL YOUR SENATORS TODAY ... RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!
If they get a law like this passed there’ll be so many screw-ups it’ll turn into a real can of worms, then they’ll go for more restrictions and gun rights will be out the window.
An aside:
Years ago my SIL was stopped for a minor traffic violation and hauled off to jail for a night because he had the same name and birth date as a wanted felon.
The next morning he was released because the cops said there was a mix-up, the guy they wanted was black and my SIL is white and that info was correct on his license and on the warrant for the felon.
His lawyer filed a suit that didn’t go to court, the city settled.
I’m sorry, I don’t trust the government in even having a “no fly list” unless it is with a court order. Then I can agree if they aren’t safe enough to fly then maybe a gun too.
But then again, I’m not sure the gov will be targeting the right people.
It’s obvious after Holder, Lynch and Obama the leader, the enemy to them are whites, Christians and armed citizens.
Listen, I hope I don’t get zotted but here’s the deal, like 2nd div, I was Cruzer but know enough to vote for Trump, even though I don’t really like him, it is a vote against Hillary. Personally, I think it will end up with Slow Joe against Trump. Actually, I hope they try to pull it off because I can’t wait to get the popcorn and watch the Bernie folks.
I think for Trump to win, after I see many negatives out there from Republicans is to bring out Sarah Palin, where she can remind those folks she endorsed them and they practically all won.
Trump needs to start talking to folks down ticket and campaigning with them, all of them house, senate, state houses, governors
