A man who worshiped at the same mosque as the Orlando gunman says he never heard him say anything particularly hateful or homophobic, but he still reported him to the FBI.
“The fact that this person was a Muslin I knew… very disturbing,” Mohammad Malik said.
Malik attends the same mosque in Fort Pierce that Omar Mateen frequented.

The FBI is, like much of American government, a joke.
I really don’t trust reports like this. Neither from the FBI nor a ‘concerned’ Muslim. Most certainly, I’d not trust a first report of this by the media. I’d have to see indisputable proof of it to believe it, frankly.
Please note that Malik “attended” while Mateen “frequented” the mosque.

I’m highly suspicious of anyone respected by a Democrat, and moderately suspicious of anyone respected by a Republican. ;)
There is little need to attend mosque once you’ve attained radicalization. Merely frequenting mosque is sufficient.
Malik will be put to death for his admission of this. We always knew he would only be a moderate muslem.

They did what the Obama administration told them to do. We could blame those who voted for Obama. Or, we could blame the media who misinformed the voters who voted for Obama.
I suggest that the media cartel is the one most to blame here. Most of us on freerepublic did what we could to inform everyone else, but we were drowned out by political correctness, the media cartel, and the whole progressive alliance.

What is the difference between “attending” and “frequenting” a mosque?

The Obama administration can’t even vet its own Muslim citizens who are born here, and we are supposed to believe it can vet foreigners who come from a war torn country with no government records?
Anyone "highly respected" by Democrats and Republicans alike is probably blackmailed up to his balls in corruption and could fit the profile of being severely compromised like having tons of kiddie porn because everyone else in government likes kiddie porn too.
One would think that most FBI agents would have already resigned.
This story fits the pattern of numerous warnings about Mateen to authorities. It fits the pattern of a 10 month investigation of warnings and a complete lack of action by the Obama administration.
Do you disbelieve every story about warnings to authorities or just this one? Do you disbelieve because you feel no Muslim would report Mateen?
I am not one to trust the media. The media may be lying. The story may be untrue. But why do you not believe this specific story?
